I am getting so disgusted with the state of TV these days. I was flipping through the channels the other day, and found a show about a company that makes fish tanks. FISH TANKS!? What the hell is interesting about that!? There is seriously no rock left unturned anymore, no story untold. There will soon be a show about my life…stay tuned.

The network is set to unveil Obese & Expecting, about four moms-to-be who are morbidly overweight.

The project will chronicle their health crises, weight gain and relationship struggles as they strive to deliver healthy babies.

According to the upcoming announcement, “These women are challenging the perception — and the odds — of obese pregnancies, as they become moms, no matter their size or complications.”

The network will launch Obese & Expecting as a one-hour special and potential backdoor series pilot next month. Many TLC shows (such as the hit Extreme Couponing) first launch as stand-alone specials, then the network gauges audience reaction and decides whether to order a full season. We wouldn’t be surprised if this concept, at the very least, received a fair amount of pre-launch publicity (the show’s original working title, by the way, was the MTV-inspired My Supersize Pregnancy, though we would have gone with, say, 600 & Pregnant).

Will you watch? C’mon, you can be honest.

Famous mom Kate Gosselin is single and looking.

But she’s being very picky… and being “smart” and “drive” are just a couple of the many qualifications on her list.

“There is nobody. Do you have any friends, Kit, that are single?” Kate askedAccess Hollywood Live co-host Kit Hoover on Monday’s show as the “Kate Plus 8” mom sat down for an interview. “[I’m looking for a guy in his] 40s, in that range. Greatest things, smart, wise, driven, determined.”

“Hot?” Access Hollywood Live co-host Billy Bush asked.

“Yeah, of course” Kate said. “Looks good standing next to me.”

The mother of eight said she’s not worried about a guy’s bank account.

“Wealthy, eh, I don’t mind working,” she explained.

The 36-year-old, who said she’s not one to make out on a first date, said her last romantic outing was “awhile ago.”

“I’ve never been the kind of person, like, if I can’t meet you in and in five minutes and see that there’s something, I’m not the kind that will go out on dates just to go out,” she told Billy and Kit. “I have better things to do.”

As for ex-husband Jon Gosselin, Kate said their relationship has improved recently.

“He’s actually working now, he has a job, so he has a different focus, which is good…something with roof solar panels, I think,” she said of Jon. “He’s actually making an effort to, you know, the four days a month that he has the kids, they come home happy. He’s making a better effort to have a better environment to have them visit, which is good.

“I do wish he would see them more, but that is what he has chosen,” she added. “The kids would like to see him more. At least it’s consistent. I can at least count on those four days… but anytime he wants them more, he can have them more and he knows that.”

Kate Gosselin’s TLC show ‘Kate Plus 8′ premiered last night, who knew!

The new season pulls out all the stops, including a trip with the family to Australia in the premiere. Insiders tell Pop Eater that everyone, including Kate, are worried she’s not going to get a warm welcome back.

“This season Kate has been told to bring her A-game,” a TV producer tells me. “If her ratings drop to the 1 million mark this will be her last season, and then Kate would have to get a real job.”

An insider assures me the new ‘Kate Plus 8′ episodes pack the goods: “You are going to see Kate spend another night camping, but this time without Sarah Palin. You will see her explore Sydney, meet with aboriginals and even swim with sharks in an attempt to win back viewers.”

TLC gave the reality star a lucrative opportunity to have her own show after she and Jon called it quits. But despite the hype, Kate’s spinoff, ‘Kate Plus 8,’ did not bring in the numbers TLC had hoped for.

The series debut brought in 3.4 million, but the second episode dropped 33 percent to 2.2 million viewers before stabilizing with around 1.6 million viewers per episode — way below the staggering 10 million that tuned in for the infamous episode in which Jon and Kate finally announced their divorce.

Still, a source close to Kate tells me that TLC continues to have faith in the Gosselins. “TLC hadn’t really done ‘Kate Plus 8′ in a series way until now — it was just sporadic specials that people had trouble finding,” my source says. “TLC does believe in her.”

I can’t stand Kate Gosselin, and I don’t watch her show at all. Do any of you watch it?

According to TMZ, the ‘Sister Wives’ family are moving to Las Vegas. “Sister Wives” polygamist Kody Brown is gonna need a whole LOTTA moving trucks … ’cause the man with 4 wives and 19 kids is moving his entire family out of the state of Utah.

Sources close to the Brown’s — all 24 of ‘em — tell TMZ Kody will be moving the gang to Nevada so he and his wives can “explore new job opportunities.”

Brown — who was at the center of the felony bigamy investigation in Utah — shouldn’t face as much scrutiny for his living situation in Nevada … where cohabitation between a man and his unlicensed “wives” is not a crime.

Brown family attorney Jonathan Turley tells us neither Kody nor his wives have been hit with any charges stemming from the Utah investigation.

As for the move — we’re told the fam should be on the road in the next few days.

Speaking of Kate…Did fellow lightning-rod gals Kate Gosselin and Sarah Palin become BFFs while camping in Alaska for Palin’s TLC show? Not so much!

A Gosselin source tells the new Us Weekly that the reality mom, 35, had “zero chemistry” with the former governor, 46, while taping a buzzed-about episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska for TLC.

“They didn’t speak off camera,” the insider adds. “She said the food and accommodations were terrible, and it was the worst trip she’d ever been on.”

Although Gosselin’s eight kids loved fishing and looking for firewood with Palin and Palin’s children, Gosselin “had a meltdown” in the 53-degree weather and left before sundown, the source reveals. “She just couldn’t cope.”

Kate Gosselin doesn’t want everyone to worry: She says her family is “doing wonderfully.”

Sitting down with the Today show’s Meredith Vieira Wednesday to “set the record straight” on various rumors, she insisted once again that two of her sextuplets, Collin and Alexis, 6, weren’t expelled from their private school in Pennsylvania.

But she admitted, “They were having anger issues, acting out, having behavior things.”

Though she was initially worried, she said their issues are “very normal, normal stuff.”

Nevertheless, she and the school “mutually agreed” to take them out and they’re working with a private tutor, she said.

“My kids are back,” she added. “They’re happy. They’re functioning and all is well again.”

Even with her ex husband, Jon.

She said she expects their holidays to be very “peaceful” this year.

“I’m pushing ahead and providing a future for my kids,” she said. “I don’t have time to waste sitting around being upset.”

Six-year-old Collin and Alexis Gosselin, two of the famous sextuplets of reality stars Kate and Jon Gosselin, were expelled from school in Pennsylvania, according to the New York Post.

The children “fought with their peers, called them nasty names and made fun of other kids,” a source close to the family told the magazine. “The things they are saying are not words they should know.”

Maybe that’s not surprising, given the acrimony that reportedly has existed between the children’s now-divorced parents.

And Collin and Alexis may not be the only members of the famous brood having a hard time. Other young Gosselins have experienced “rage issues” linked to filming of their reality series, the magazine reported. (more…)
