Taylor Momsen continues to charm her way across the globe! At a recent stop in Scotland, the youngster made a mistake that ended getting her booed. Pop Eater has the scoop:
‘Gossip Girl’ star Taylor Momsen may have perfected her teen with a ‘tude act on American soil, but it doesn’t seem as though the singer/actress will be content until she’s offended someone on every continent.
In what can only be assumed to be a sneaky lesson about the importance of education, while touring with her band, The Pretty Reckless, in Glasgow last week, Momsen announced her act, telling the audience, “We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard that Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England.”
Needless to say, concert-goers, who were watching the band in the same Scottish venue in which they were performing, were less than pleased with the slip-up.
Audience member Stuart Neilson told the Daily Record of the gaffe, “I think she needs to go back to school for geography lessons … There really isn’t any excuse. Surely someone backstage could have said something to her.”
The Gossip Girl problem child and Pretty Reckless rocker tells British newspaper The Guardian that the video for her band’s song, “Make Me Wanna Die,” was held in prolonged limbo because the singer, who’s currently 17, originally opted to go fully nude for the video shoot.
“It was held up in legal for a long time because I was 16 when we shot that,” she chuckles. “We couldn’t release it because, yes, I actually got naked.”
She rationalises the nudity thus: “It’s such a complex song – and the video really reflects the song, in the way that I’d die for this person. And the point is: if you don’t do something that’s making you happy, you’re just working through possessions and shit; you’re dying with nothing anyway. So I’m stripping off my worldly possessions and giving them away. And then there’s hell raining down, just cause it looks cool.”
Momsen is a promoter of masturbation:
“I’m a promoter of masturbation,” she says loudly, making our fellow diners pretend they haven’t heard. “Don’t sleep around – learn yourself first! Guys do, but girls don’t. And that’s why girls have so many bad experiences. But you can know your body, know yourself, know what feels good. You don’t have to give yourself away just to have sexual relevance. Because I don’t think sex is something people should be afraid of. It’s part of human nature, so I don’t think it should be so shameful – particularly for girls and young girls.” Continue reading after the jump!
Taylor Momsen blames her parents for robbing her of a healthy childhood, insisting they are the reason she’s so dark and miserable.
According to Starpulse, the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress and lead singer of The Pretty Reckless said, “Everyone’s like, ‘Wow, why is she upset and why is she so miserable about things?’ My parents signed me up with Ford [modeling agency] at the age of two. No 2-year-old wants to be working, but I had no choice.”
Momsen, now 17, continued, “My whole life, I was in and out of school. I didn’t have friends. I was working constantly and I didn’t have a real life.”
Momsen recently stirred up controversy for an interview she did with Revolver, in which she said, “If it’s a good sex tape, I’ll watch it … I like some adult stars. I have a couple favorites. But I will say this: That Tommy Lee-Pamela Anderson video wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t f**k Tommy Lee.”
While performing with her band, Pretty Reckless, Taylor Momsen flashed party-goers!
The actress/singer took the stage in high heels, ripped shirt, mini skirt and fishnets. During one of her songs, she pulled down her shirt to reveal her breasts which were barely covered by x-shaped strips of black tape.
I’m so over Taylor Momsen and her “shocking” antics. I find her incredibly annoying. After receiving criticism over her ways, she insists she doesn’t care, and she’s not interested in changing.
“I didn’t get into this to be a role model,” she has said. “So, I’m sorry if I’m influencing your kids in a way that you don’t like, but I can’t be responsible for their actions. I don’t care.”
In a sure-to-be-controversial photo shoot, the Gossip Girl sweetie-cum-rock diva posed in barely-there lingerie, stockings and two large guns.
17-year-old Taylor is no stranger to courting controversy. The Pretty Reckless frontwoman has repeatedly come under fire in the media for her sometimes scandalous taste in on-stage clothing. What do you think of Taylor’s glock cover?
