Julianne Moore was sent to portray Hillary Clinton in HBO’s ‘The Special Relationship,’ before dropping out due to scheduling conflicts with ‘The Kids Are All Right.’
The role eventually went to Hope Davis, who played the former first lady opposite Dennis Quaid’s Bill Clinton, but not before Moore completed a makeup test for the film, according to BlackBook.com.
Incidentally, Moore will play Sarah Palin in HBO’s upcoming ‘Game Change.’

I posted a story yesterday about Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp dating – and man, everyone got all up in a huff about it! No way – not your John Mellencamp! He wouldn’t do that! Never doubt the power or Meg’s magic, that’s what I should have said. Looks like Johnny boy did leave his wife of 18 years for Meg Ryan – and this isn’t her first rodeo. She’s back in the center of another alleged affair! (She left her husband, Dennis Quaid, shortly after an affair she had with Russell Crowe.)

The pair have spent time together on Martha’s Vineyard and in New York City in recent days, enjoying a fresh romance just as Mellencamp has announced his separation from wife Elaine after 18 years of marriage.
A source close to Ryan, 49, says the actress and the rock star, 59, began dating about seven weeks ago, and that Mellencamp and his wife had been separated for some time before that.
The pair have been spotted having coffee at Espresso Love, one of Ryan’s favorite spots on the Vineyard, and grocery shopping at Gourmet Garage in New York’s SoHo neighborhood – where observers tell PEOPLE they seemed happy and at ease.
“She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter. I thought that was her husband because they seemed for comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old married couple,” one observer says.

Professor Lawrence Wetherhold (Dennis Quaid) might be imperiously brilliant, monumentally self-possessed and an intellectual giant — but when it comes to solving the conundrums of love and family, he’s as downright flummoxed as the next guy. His teenaged daughter (Ellen Page) is an acid-tongued overachiever who follows all too closely in dad’s misery-loving footsteps, and his adopted, preposterously ne’er-do-well brother (Thomas Haden Chuch) has perfected the art of freeloading. A widower who can’t seem to find passion in anything anymore, not even the Victorian Literature in which he’s an expert, it seems Lawrence is sleepwalking through a very stunted middle age. When his brother shows up unexpectedly for an extended stay at just about the same time as he accidentally encounters his former student Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker), the circumstances cause him to stir from his deep, deep freeze, with often comical, sometimes heartbreaking, consequences for himself and everyone around him.
Not the most flattering picture of SJP, if you ask me.
