Sorry, Black Eyed Peas fans, the band has just announced they’re taking an “indefinite break” from making music.
At their Alton Towers show in Staffordshire earlier this week, the band announced that they would be taking an ‘indefinite break’ from making music together. Fergie told the audience that this show is “very special” because it is “last time we’re going to be in England for a long time.”
The band’s frontman tried to soothe fans by saying, “We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning.” The band has a history of lengthy sabbaticals, their last one being 2005-2009, and she reassured fans that this ‘break’ is not a break up. “This isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us,” she said.
Fergie was not the only one saying they’ll be back. Bandmate will.i.am tweeted “The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.”
I’m not especially heartbroken over the news. You?
It seems like everyone in Hollywood is having a baby!
Except for the Black Eyed Peas queen. Right now, Fergie isn’t pregnant, but she and hubby, Josh Duhamel, may have plans to start a family… do they have babies on their mind?
“Oh yeah, of course. Not right this second. Not pregnant, for the record. But, yeah,” Fergie tells Hollyscoop.
While her bandmates are using the time off to work on solo projects, the singer is happy to have more time at home.
“We’re taking a break … getting more of that personal time,” she says. “Josh and I have gotten to spend a lot more time together this year than other years, which is great.”
In my opinion, if and when they have a Ferghamel (aka baby), it will be totally cute!
In case you didn’t know, the Black Eyed Peas won Top Duo/Group at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday (May 22).
Fergie showed up at Macy’s yesterday in New York City to promote her 2011 shoe collection.
The 36-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer wore her own six-inch stilettos, part of the collection.
Fergie is on break from singing duties until the band hits the road in late May.
Her husband, actor Josh Duhamel, recently denied reports that he had asked her to slow down her work schedule.
Josh told E! Online: ‘She’s not doing it because of me.
‘And I mean, we do want to take some time and I’m excited to have more time with her, but we always consider the other person when we’re doing something and make sure we’re scheduling enough time to be together.
‘That’s the only way to make it work.’
Fergie was expected to work on the highly-anticipated follow up to her hit album, 2006’s The Duchess, but has put another solo album on hold.
Duhamel said: ‘She wants a little time. They’ve been working her like a rented mule for eight years. She wants a little time off.’
But the star seems to be enjoying her new passion for designing shoes and the pint-sized singer is regularly seen in sky-high heels to boost her tiny frame.
Today is another day for Britney Spears, as she lays low in the car on the way to lunch at Pizza Shack in Louisiana. Lately, the songstress has been sticking close to her beau, Jason Trawick.
Last week, Britney tweeted a 10-second clip of “Inside Out,” another single from her Femme Fatale album:
The popstar also teases via Twitter that her song is a collaboration with a Black Eyed Peas member! When Will.i.am. tweets that the two are in the studio making a second “banger” for the new album, Brit responds:
“@iamwill We make sweet sweet music”
Now that teaser is a real teaser! Gimme gimme more!
Who would have thought the worst part of the Super Bowl would have been the Black Eyed Peas half time show? It was terrible, that’s what most news outlets are reporting.
There was a lot of effort put into the show – but it didn’t really pay off. The end result looked as if they were trying too hard. There were a few microphone issues – and a few lyrics issues. I wish they would have gone out there and done something exciting and new. It just fell flat, in my opinion.
They sang songs that we’re all tired of, by now. I found myself saying – “Ugh, not this song again!”. Usher made a one-song appearance, and Slash came onstage long enough for Fergie to butcher “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” It was painful to watch.
From Pop Eater: “There is little doubt that this will go down in the history books as a massive fail. There is a reason that legends like The Who and The Rolling Stones serve a Super Bowl audience well. They know what they’re doing in a Texas-sized stadium. Let’s see what they’re doing next year.”
From the Washington Post: “Sweet Child O’ Mine” will now forever be associated with Fergie doing a half-hearted snake dance with furry man-creature Slash. Somewhere, Axl Rose is weeping.”
