Toni Braxton’s recent hospital visit has resulted in her canceling the rest of this month’s performances of her Las Vegas show.
The showroom at the Flamingo Las Vegas, where the 40-year-old has been headlining in Toni Braxton: Revealed, shall remain dark this week while Braxton undergoes additional medical tests following her April 7 hospitalization for chest pain, the Associated Press reports.
She is due to return to the show May 6. Until then, the Flamingo will offer refunds for the canceled shows.
The six-time Grammy winner – who on a previous occasion was treated for hypertension and pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart – was released from the hospital April 8 after undergoing precautionary tests at a Las Vegas medical facility. She was said to be resting at home.

Toni Braxton has been admitted to a Vegas hospital — breathe again!
We hear Braxton was admitted to St. Rose Dominican Hospital late last night after her show at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. FOX 5 in Vegas reports the diva is in good condition.
A spokeswoman for the American Heart Association, Braxton suffers from pericarditis, an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart. She learned she had the condition after the birth of her second son.
Braxton has been headlining a Las Vegas show at the hotel since 2006. Tomorrow’s show could be canceled, but that won’t be confirmed until this afternoon. Today was a scheduled off day.

I wasn’t even aware that Grammy Award winner Toni Braxton is a survivor of heart disease. She is helping kick off National Heart Month and Toni is uniquely qualified to become involved, indeed.
“I am here because I’m the spokesperson this year for the American Heart Association,” Braxton, 40, said Thursday at Woman’s Day Presents the 5th Annual “The Red Dress Awards” inside Manhattan’s Time Warner Center, “and because I’m a survivor.”
Despite appearing to be in great shape, “I have heart disease, and I found out about five or four years ago,” said Braxton, who was appearing in Broadway’s Aida at the time she saw the doctor – and was under the impression she felt the way she did simply because she was exhausted.
She found out she had pericarditis, an inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart. “And,” she said, “I’ve also been diagnosed with hypertension.”
Of course, the news came as a shock. “I was disappointed. I didn’t get it,” she remembers reacting. But she did spring into action. “I had to make lifestyle and diet changes.”
Now, she says, “I eat relatively well, but sometimes having those pizzas and burgers late at night – I had to change that.”
