In April’s Vogue, Gisele Bundchen opens up about giving birth to baby Benjamin.

Benjamin — her son with husband Tom Brady — was born at their Boston penthouse last December, in warm water in a deep bathtub that overlooks the Charles River.

“I wanted to experience the transformation,” Bundchen, 29, explains, squashing rumors that she gave birth at a Boston-area hospital.

A friend from Brazil served as a mid-wife, and both her mother and Brady, 31, were present.

Through the birth, she says she meditated.

“It was the most amazing experience of my life, feeling him come through my body,” she says. “And once he was born, I never felt so empowered as looking at him and thinking, Oh, my God, we did it together!”

Initially, she says she and Brady bickered over the baby’s name.

“I wanted him to be called River because I wanted something always flowing, immortal,” she says. “My husband said, ‘There’s no way we’re going to call him River.’ But my father’s name is Reinoldo, so it’s a homage to him. And it’s like water.”

During her pregnancy, she says she “gained only 30 pounds.”

She says it wasn’t hard to get her pre-baby body back, especially since she exercised regularly right up until she gave birth. “I did kung fu up until two weeks before Benjamin was born, and yoga three days a week,” she says.

Bundchen also says she was “mindful” about what she ate.

Says the model: “I think a lot of people get pregnant and decide they can turn into garbage disposals.”

While expecting, Bundchen says she purposely stayed out of the public eye. “I felt like my pregnancy was a sacred moment for me … I didn’t work apart from the contracts I have, and then I only let them use my face.”

When she recently posed for one of her advertising clients, “I got to the studio and I felt like I was E.T. — whoa, what’s going on? Hair and makeup? I hadn’t looked at myself in a mirror for a month-and-a-half,” she says. “I’d been in my house, in a cocoon with my kids, my husband, my dogs. Usually, as I walk through the door into that atmosphere, I already feel different. There’s a button that goes On and I’m On. And when I go On, there is almost no me; there is just a character who is doing all this. This time it wasn’t like that. I’ve been really inside with my husband and my baby, and everything is changed. But the client still deserves respect and professionalism, and I got a little bit concerned because I wasn’t feeling it. Makeup was done, hair was done, and I looked in the mirror and I still wasn’t seeing the person who’s a model.”

Says Bundchen, “For the first time, I think I actually saw me — the inside — instead of the persona.”

When it comes to being a dad, it’s no surprise Tom Brady plans to bond with his boys over football.

The New England Patriots quarterback — who welcomed 2-month-old son Benjamin with wife Gisele Bundchen — tells Extra that he is looking forward to the day he can play sports with his family off the NFL field.

“It’s a great thing to see them run around at the football game or at least one of them run around,” says Brady, referring to his eldest child, 2-year-old son John, with ex Bridget Moynahan.

He adds: “For a long time, I didn’t know when I was going to be a father, and now I have two boys.”

John, Benjamin and Gisele are all getting more face time with the proud papa, whose team isn’t competing in this Sunday’s Super Bowl.

“I like to spend time with my family and friends and get a little rest,” he tells Extra of his downtime. “Because, obviously, during the football season, there’s not a whole lot of that!”

Introducing….Benjamin Brady! After ten days, Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady have finally revealed the name of their baby boy (born Dec. 8).

Bundchen, 29, used her website Friday to drop the big news.

“I want to thank you all with all my heart for the immense love I have received here on the website,” the supermodel writes. “I am living a very special moment in my life. Benjamin is a blessing and I could not be happier.”

Little Benjamin is the first child for Bundchen, who married Brady, 32, ten months ago. The supermodel-footballer progeny does have a half-brother, however: John, 2, Brady’s son with ex Bridget Moynahan.

Bundchen and Brady apparently had a different name picked out two days before Benjamin’s birth. But the mommy-to-be changed her mind. “She said, ‘I don’t like that name anymore,” Brady said in a recent radio broadcast.

When it comes to picking out a name for their week-old baby, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are still huddling.

The couple had already settled on a name months before Bündchen, 29, gave birth to a boy last Tuesday, but then she had a change of heart.

“It’s kind of back to the drawing board,” Brady, 32, said in an interview on WEEI Sports Radio. “We thought we had a name picked out for about six months and then about two days before he was born she said, ‘I don’t like that name anymore.’”

And Brady, who quickly returned to work as quarterback of the New England Patriots, says the couple will need more than the little time they can currently scrape together to have a serious discussion about the matter.

“She makes all these decisions,” Brady joked, adding, “I haven’t been home all week. We have about seven or eight choices. I have got to be home for more than just two-three hours so we can talk about it.”

His only condition? “It will probably be a traditional [name],” he says. And though he doesn’t mind choosing a Brazilian name, in honor of his wife’s heritage, “I certainly want a name that I can pronounce!”

Gisele Bundchen and her husband, NFL star Tom Brady, have welcomed a boy, People.com reports.

Details regarding the birth and the baby’s name have yet to be disclosed.

Just last week, Brady revealed that he found out the baby’s gender but was keeping it a secret from his supermodel wife at her request.

“I’m really the only one that knows,” Brady, 32, said. “She’s a very intelligent woman. I wanted to find out and she didn’t, so she said, ‘Go ahead.’ It will be a surprise for her.”

Bundchen, 29, and the New England Patriots quarterback tied the knot in a private Los Angeles ceremony in February. The couple welcomed friends and family to witness their followup wedding ceremony at Bundchen’s Costa Rican estate.

It is the first child for Bundchen and the second for Brady, who has a 2-year-old son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan.
