Country sweetheart, Taylor Swift makes an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show” today.  Ellen chats with Taylor about how she handles living in the public eye.  Plus, Taylor premiered her newest single ” The Story of Us.”

Ellen: So how old are you, 21?

Taylor: Yeah.

Ellen: 21. So imagine going through relationships when you’re that age and what that’s like, much less in the public eye.  Everybody gets to see pictures because everyone gets pictures, you know, paparazzi catches you with somebody.  We get to see all these things happen but there are also feelings and all kinds of weird stuff that happened that you’re feeling.  And you’re living it out in front of us.  It’s got to be hard.

Taylor: I think it’s just obnoxious if I complain about anything…I hear people talk about like, oh, the intrusions on my privacy.  It’s like there are a million other jobs you could have had.  And for me, I’ve just come to an acceptance of the fact, this is my life.  If somebody wants to hide a relationship or has privacy issues then we don’t have the same viewpoint.  For me, it’s just like live your life. If people happen to take picture then you know, you laugh about it in the car afterwards.

I appreciate the fact that she realizes fame and the paparazzi come with the territory. I’m so tired of celebs that bitch about being constantly watched/talked about. It comes with the territory!

Taylor Swift is the latest star to root for the underdog with her new music video for “Mean,” a song reportedly written in response to harsh critics.

Taylor Swift is opening the doors for her dress rehearsal to help those devastated by the tornadoes that touched down in the South. The 21-year-old country singer is selling 13,000 tickets for fans to come see her last dress rehearsal for her ‘Speak Now’ tour. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards those that lost homes, family, and friends in the recent disaster that killed 329 people and leveled entire communities.

Taylor says:

“I was watching the coverage of the tornadoes backstage at rehearsals, and I wanted to do something for the families affected by the damage. I’ve never opened a rehearsal to the public before, but I felt that inviting my fans to the last rehearsal for the ‘Speak Now’ tour would be a great way to raise money.”

“We will probably still be doing some fine-tuning to the show that night, since this will be a true rehearsal, but I feel like it is so important for me and my fans to help if we can.”

I think Taylor Swift’s dress at last night’s Met Gala is strange. I think I like the top half, but not a fan of the bottom half. I think I would have liked it more if the bottom was fitted.

Taylor Swift had a low-key dinner with Garrett Hedlund in Nashville April 1.

“It was their first time going out,” a source tells Us Weekly of Swift’s evening with the Tron: Legacy and Country Strong star, who has been in Nashville recording a CD.

“They’ve been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together.”

Hedlund joined his date at 8 p.m. and was back at his hotel by 12:30 a.m. Swift — who won Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards April 3 and will continue her Speak Now tour May 27 — is taking things slowly after her fast-track romance and breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal last fall. (Back in February, she went on an L.A. date with Glee hunk Chord Overstreet.)

“”She has actually spent time getting to know Garrett,” says the insider. “He’s cute — and he’s into country music! [She] likes that he’s a normal guy.”

The ladies ruled at The Acadamy of Country Music Awards last night! Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the Year, while Miranda Lambert took home four trophies, earning the most awards of the night.

“This is the first time that I’ve ever won this and I’m just losing my mind,” said the 21-year-old, whose album “Speak Now” sold 1 million copies in its first week alone when it was released last fall. “The fact that this is from the fans makes it so special.”

Miranda was also up for Entertainer of the Year. Even though she lost that award, she was definitely the night’s biggest winner. Her “The House That Built Me” won song, single record and video of the year.
