Taylor Momsen has been replaced by Kelly Osbourne as the face of Madonna’s clothing line, Material Girl. Taylor couldn’t be happier, according to sources.

She told Bang Showbiz “It’s fantastic, congratulations to her. She’ll have so much fun working with Madonna but just like any other contract it naturally came to a close.

Momsen recently saw the end of her contract with the label, which is run by Madonna and her daughter Lourdes. She was replaced by the 26-year-old star, but she insists she isn’t upset by the move.

“My deal ended and passing the torch has gone on to another great young woman, I’m excited to see the new photos. It was a great experience working with Madonna, I had so much fun doing it.”

Taylor Momsen says that she feels like a product. I guess if I had to work from the age of three-years-old, I’d probably feel the same way!

She said, “You get more insight as you get older, on everything. I kind of woke up one morning and was like, ‘Oh I see what’s happening, I get everything’. I woke up and was like, ‘I get it, I’m a product.’”

She went on to reveal that she wasn’t prepared for fame, but says she’s not worried about what anyone thinks of her. She added, “Fame just kind of happens over night. No one prepares you for it. On ‘Gossip Girl’, I was just going to work, doing what I’ve always done, and then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘Woah!’ But you get used to it. You ignore it – because whatever people say about me doesn’t bother me at all. If you’re in high school or college or at work, someone’s not going to like you. It’s inevitable. But it doesn’t mean anything.”

Taylor Momsen continues to charm her way across the globe! At a recent stop in Scotland, the youngster made a mistake that ended getting her booed. Pop Eater has the scoop:

‘Gossip Girl’ star Taylor Momsen may have perfected her teen with a ‘tude act on American soil, but it doesn’t seem as though the singer/actress will be content until she’s offended someone on every continent.

In what can only be assumed to be a sneaky lesson about the importance of education, while touring with her band, The Pretty Reckless, in Glasgow last week, Momsen announced her act, telling the audience, “We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard that Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England.”

Needless to say, concert-goers, who were watching the band in the same Scottish venue in which they were performing, were less than pleased with the slip-up.

Audience member Stuart Neilson told the Daily Record of the gaffe, “I think she needs to go back to school for geography lessons … There really isn’t any excuse. Surely someone backstage could have said something to her.”

At least she is consistent: Taylor Momsen once again hit the stage as the frontwoman of her rock band The Pretty Reckless wearing a risque outfit that was inappropriate for a 17-year-old.

She took to the mic in thigh-high stockings, high heels, and an oversized men’s shirt unbuttoned to showcase her silky black bra.

As usual, she also rocked her raccoon smoky eyes and disheveled long blond hair.

The Gossip Girl problem child and Pretty Reckless rocker tells British newspaper The Guardian that the video for her band’s song, “Make Me Wanna Die,” was held in prolonged limbo because the singer, who’s currently 17, originally opted to go fully nude for the video shoot.

“It was held up in legal for a long time because I was 16 when we shot that,” she chuckles. “We couldn’t release it because, yes, I actually got naked.”

She rationalises the nudity thus: “It’s such a complex song – and the video really reflects the song, in the way that I’d die for this person. And the point is: if you don’t do something that’s making you happy, you’re just working through possessions and shit; you’re dying with nothing anyway. So I’m stripping off my worldly possessions and giving them away. And then there’s hell raining down, just cause it looks cool.”

Momsen is a promoter of masturbation:

“I’m a promoter of masturbation,” she says loudly, making our fellow diners pretend they haven’t heard. “Don’t sleep around – learn yourself first! Guys do, but girls don’t. And that’s why girls have so many bad experiences. But you can know your body, know yourself, know what feels good. You don’t have to give yourself away just to have sexual relevance. Because I don’t think sex is something people should be afraid of. Taylor Momsen has been largely MIA this season on Gossip Girl. So when the Deadline story broke that she’s being “sidelined,” it only made sense. After all, how long can the CW support this girl’s massive eyeliner addiction? And of course, there are those ever-growing rumors of diva-ish behavior.

So this may surprise you, but according to multiple sources connected to the series:

Taylor “isn’t going anywhere” and the behavior issues are “nothing new.”

Like the other original Gossip castmembers, Taylor is contracted through season seven, and she’ll remain a part of the series moving forward. We just won’t see her in every episode. (more…)

Are Taylor Momsen’s Gossip Girl days over?

The increasingly controversial 17-year-old actress will begin an “indefinite hiatus” from Gossip Girl following next Monday’s episode, sources tell Deadline. Reps for the CW and Warner Brothers declined to comment.

Momsen has played Jenny Humphrey, kid sister to Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) since the CW soap debuted in 2007. Although a series regular, she has only appeared in three episodes so far in the current fourth season.

“She only does [the show] for the money,” a source explains to UsMagazine.com “She works hard on Gossip Girl but doesn’t care about the plot or the other cast members. She treats it like a 9-5. No emotional investment.”

Momsen, who also fronts the rock band Pretty Reckless, has grown up since her big-screen debut at age 7 as cute Cindy Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas – raising eyebrows with her skimpy, intensely Gothic wardrobe, notoriously foul-mouthed interviews and angry, age-inappropriate antics.

The new Us Weekly even reports that, for her Oct. 21 Pretty Reckless concert at NYC’s Don Hill’s (in which she flashed her breasts to the crowd) Momsen had a startling request: “Her rider included a full bar in her dressing room,” an insider told Us. “That was rejected — she’s underage!”
