Lady Gaga to guest judge on ‘SYTYCD’!

“So You Think You Can Dance” is bringing in some serious guest judges this season! While just announcing that Megan Mullally will guest judge, it has just been revealed that Lady Gaga and Kristen Chenoweth will also guest judge sometime this season.

“I asked her when she performed on the ‘American Idol’ finale if she would come on and she said yes,” executive producer and head judge Nigel Lythgoe tells Xfinity TV News. He adds that the “Poker Face” hitmaker’s date has not been set yet, because “she is on tour so they said it would probably be later in the season. She is an amazing dancer and performer.”

Kristin Chenoweth, who is known for her Broadway works and guest-starring role on “Glee”, will additionally appear on the judge panel. Teasing further, Lythgoe says Ellen DeGeneres and Neil Patrick Harris are other potential judges as they are currently talking to producers about coming to the show.

Aside from the guest judges, “SYTYCD” may bring back popular dancer Alex Wong, who left the competition last season due to an injury, for all-star version. “Alex Wong is not fit enough to be a competitive dancer. Hopefully he is going to be fit enough, and hopefully he will be complementary to whoever is at the show at that point when it comes time to picking the all-stars,” Lythgoe explains.

I think it’s a great idea!

What would SYTYCD be without Mia Michaels!?

0a0cf340-cef4-4645-b12e-b6737847ca2c_main_miamichaels_502.jpg

We’re about to find out, unfortunately.

Mia Michaels turned to Twitter (ala Paula Abdul) to resign from So You Think You Can Dance. Mia has been with the show for 5 years, and in my opinion is the best choreographer they have on the program. I’ll be really sad to see her go!

“I AM OFFICIALLY AN ADORING FAN OF SYTYCD….THANK U FOR 5 WONDERFUL YRS…TO CREATE MOMENTS AND MOVEMENT FOR THE WORLD TO SHARE WITH ME WAS A GIFT…THANKS SYTYCD AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHATS AHEAD FOR ME…LOOKOUT WORLD!!!!!”

Neither Fox, nor Mia’s reps have commented on the news – and ICYDK is officially hoping this isn’t true.  Stay Mia, stay! Mia’s dance routine’s are inspirational – and emotional and beautiful!

SYTYCD’s Mary Murphy Reveals Shocking Story of Abuse‏

us_mary_murphy_cover.jpg

In the new issue of Us Weekly, So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy opens up for the first time ever about surviving a nine-year abusive relationship, during which she was repeatedly raped and beaten and suffered a miscarriage. She tells Us Weekly her ex-husband – whose name is being withheld but who says Murphy’s claims are “flat-out lies” – raped her for the first time three months after they wed.

“We’d had another jealous fight, screaming, crashing over furniture, and he said, ‘I want to have sex,'” Murphy, 51, tells Us Weekly. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?! We’re fighting here!’ He said, ‘You’re my wife, and you’ll do what I tell you!’ I pulled out a kitchen knife and screamed, ‘You’re going to have to stab me, because I’m not having sex with you!’ He knocked it out of my hands, held me down and raped me.”

Soon, she says, a pattern developed: “A fight, then rape, then presents: a dress, a diamond bracelet, earrings. In the first year or two, I’d fight back, but eventually, I’d just lie there. Get it over with, I thought. It’ll be quick anyway.” For years, “I’d have black eyes and bruises,” she tells Us Weekly. “But I never called the police or went to the hospital. I didn’t want anybody to know.” She says she got pregnant around 1982. “But in my fourth month, I miscarried,” she tells Us Weekly. “My husband was disgusted, saying I murdered our baby, because I’d done some light dancing the night before. I was sinking deeper and deeper at that point, just reeling into despair.”

In 1985, she learned her husband – who was from a wealthy, prominent family in the Middle East – had proposed to another woman during one of his Middle East trips. “This is what motivated me to leave him,” she says. Murphy, who was teaching dance, eventually saved up enough money to leave and drove to San Diego, where she called her husband to ask for a divorce. Says Murphy, “I faced him one more time to sign the papers, and then I never heard from him again.”

So You Think You Can Dance Star Charged with Rape

Alex De Silva

Four months after former So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex Da Silva was arrested and subsequently cleared of multiple rape-related charges, he was arrested again for allegedly sexually assaulting four women.

The SYTYCD star was charged with eight felony counts of assault after being arrested Tuesday morning at his North Hollywood home, TMZ.com reports.

The charges include four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object.

The District Attorney claims the alleged assaults occurred between August 2002 and March 2009. The four alleged victims were between the ages of 20 and 26 and were all dancers who met Da Silva through his dance classes.

Da Silva was arrested for similar charges this past April, but L.A. prosecutors claimed there was not enough evidence to pursue any charges.

He is being held on $6.2 million bail.
