Sean Combs has slammed reports he is to wed his R&B protegee Cassie.
Star magazine claimed the Bad Boy Records boss, 38, was planning to make the 21-year-old singer - real name Cassandra Ventura - his wife.
The publication reported that the rapper let slip the big news to friends at his son Justin’s recent eighth grade graduation party.
But Combs’ representative has refuted the allegations, telling People.com, “Contrary to tabloid reports, there is no engagement. This was a complete fabrication.”
Cassie, who has long been rumoured to be romantically involved with Combs, recently insisted their relationship is purely platonic.
She said: “We are not together, but we are definitely friends. We work hard together, so it makes a good combo.”
Combs first met Cassie after signing her to his record label two years ago.

Sean Combs became the target of a confused Alzheimer’s Disease sufferer during a recent stay in a Beverly Hills hotel.
The unnamed elderly man approached Diddy as if he was an old friend, and then lashed out at the rapper-turned-style guru.
Diddy’s entourage quickly surrounded the man, but the rap star guessed he was mentally unstable and insisted he be left alone.
Instead, Diddy shook the man’s hand, pretended he was an old pal and discovered his would-be assailant was 80 years old.
An eyewitness tells the National Enquirer, “Diddy couldn’t have been nicer. He was a perfect gentleman.”

Sean Combs is impressed by the media’s acceptance of his multiple monikers - because no other star has managed to sway the press to take their new names seriously.
The 38-year-old star has entertained a host of names to define new personas for his business ventures and personal life - most recently requesting the P be dropped from his latest nickname P. Diddy.
And the business tycoon insists the confusion surrounding his symbolic name changes are inconsequential, because so many other high-profile artists are still grappling with the press to change their names in print.
He says, “I do take pride in being able to successfully change my name and having the media actually change my name in print. Prince, he wasn’t able to do it. Garth Brooks, he wasn’t able to do it. I think I’m the only person that has successfully been able to do it, and I just have fun with it.”
“It is confusing on Google though. Because I would probably be higher up on Google ranks if I just had one name.”
