Sarah Michelle Gellar’s hit show Buffy The Vampire Slayer has been blamed for 50,000 women abandoning traditional Western religion to study paganism.

According to the recent British study published in Women and Religion in the West, young women have taken an increased interest in practicing witchcraft after Gellar’s hit U.S. TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer hit the mainstream.

The study’s author Dr. Kristin Aune says: “Because of its focus on female empowerment, young women are attracted by Wicca, popularized by the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In short, women are abandoning the church.”

The Church of England has declined to comment on the study.

The actress joined rocker Dave Navarro, Amanda Bynes and Leila Ali by peeling off for a recent benefit held to raise cash for the Coalition of Skin Diseases in America.

The naked shots of the four stars brought in over 10,000 bids at the online auction and sponsors at skincare giants Vaseline were so impressed, they added $25,000 to the charity haul.

Sarah Michelle Gellar was too tired to perform a sex scene in her 2006 movie Southland Tales, because she had just feasted on turkey.

She plays a porn star in the movie, but was disappointed when she couldn’t partake in an intimate scene with full gusto, because all she wanted to do was sleep. The 30-year-old had binged on a huge Thanksgiving meal of turkey – which contains chemicals that make you lethargic – just before she was due to film the scene.

She tells Maxim magazine, “For a porn star, I didn’t get much action. I filmed a love scene on Thanksgiving, and I had eaten all this turkey and mashed potatoes and was like, ‘I seriously have to film a sex scene right now?’ “I was so tired from all the tryptophan (an amino acid in turkey that makes you sleepy) that I just wanted to sleep.”
