A representative for Christina Aguilera has dismissed rumours linking the newly-single singer to lesbian DJ Samantha Ronson - insisting they are “nothing more” than just good friends.

The Dirrty hitmaker announced her split from husband Jordan Bratman last week and subsequently filed divorce papers in a bid to officially end the union.

After news of the separation surfaced, the pop star was spotted spending time with Ronson, who previously dated actress Lindsay Lohan, leading to rumours linking the women romantically.

But a rep for Aguilera is adamant the stories are not true, telling the Chicago Sun-Times, “(It is) a good, longtime friendship and nothing more than that.”

The dog mauling left Samantha Ronson “incredibly sad.” Depending on what investigators find out, things could be getting worse.

The celeb DJ and her bulldog Cadillac are at the center of a probe by animal control officials after the pooch’s fatal attack yesterday on another dog in Ronson’s apartment building.

“It’s a pending criminal prosecution,” Deputy Director Michelle Roache of the Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control exclsuively tells E! News. “The attack is substantial.”

Roache says the department will investigate all allegations made against the dog, gather evidence, and then present their case to the district attorney. Similar attacks have resulted in felony charges.

“It’s all up to the courts whether or not a person is going to lose the right to own the dog, or that the dog be euthanized, or that there’s restrictions against the dog,” says Roache.

“They vary from [sentences where] the person can’t own any dogs in the county of Los Angeles, to the court demanding the dog for euthanasia, or a lot of times they have to pay a fine. I haven’t seen people jailed for an incident like this.”

Roache says the department will investigate whether Cadillac has been involved in previous attacks.

“We have to backtrack into past incidents and find people who are involved or have any knowledge of the dog’s behavior,” says Roache.

Roache says the investigation will be “a long, lengthy process,” probably taking between two and three months.

In the meantime, Roache says the dog can stay with Ronson or her family members since it did not attack a person.

“We don’t believe there was a bite to any person,” says Roache. “If the dog has bitten a person it has to be quarantined for 10 days and we don’t allow the dog to leave the state.”

Ronson has reportedly shipped Cadillac off to New York to be with her family, and Roache says this is an acceptable arrangement.

“If there’s no proper way to resolve the incident and confine the dog safely so that it does not occur to anyone else during the filing of the criminal case, and we feel that the dog is a threat, then we would impound the dog,” says Roache. “If they have another address where it has more responsible people or better confinement, that’s something that is preferable over putting an animal in a shelter.”

Ronson’s rep has not responded to requests for comment. In a tweet last night, Ronson said, “I feel incredibly sad and wish I could offer more than condolences, unfortunately there are no words to describe how sorry I am.”

Well, according to TMZ, she has a drinking problem. She can’t get a glass of water to save her life!

Sources at the Lynwood Correctional Facility explain the problem to TMZ this way … inmates can order food and drinks from the commissary on Mondays, and pick it up on Tuesdays. Lindsay didn’t check in until Tuesday, and the jailers are making her wait until next Monday before she can order anything.

The girl wants a drink of water, but the only thing that’s available — as one source puts it — is “water from that nasty sink in her cell.” Lindsay just can’t stomach it.

So on Thursday, Lindsay asked jailers several times for water, but they wouldn’t budge. One jailer told her, “Just drink the milk from the day before.”

Apparently, there’s a vending machine somewhere in the jail, but no one has offered her the option.

But, not all is lost for poor Lilo. The love of her life, Samantha Ronson has now visited her TWICE behind bars. According to Pop Eater, Lindsay seems to be getting special treatment! The visiting hours at Lynwood Correctional Facility are usually on weekends, but Lindsay seems to get visitors all week long. WTH?

On her third day in jail, Lindsay Lohan was visited by ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, RadarOnline.com reports.

Ronson wasn’t Lohan’s first visitor since checking in on Tuesday; her mother Dina, sister Ali and business manager Lou Taylor paid the actress a visit on Wednesday. PEOPLE reports the visit lasted about 30 minutes.

A family friend told PEOPLE that Lohan’s mom and sister are “devastated” but resilient. “Their faith is keeping them strong. Their faith and the thought that this is going to be over soon and that Lindsay is going to be okay,” the friend added.

While most inmates can only have visitors on weekends, jail officials have the discretion to approve visitors for inmates, RadarOnline.com learned. Authorities tell the website, “Lindsay might get visitors after the official visiting hours are over for the other inmates for security reasons. It’s for the safety of everyone.”

Lohan was originally scheduled to be released from jail on August 1 or 2 but her lawyer said Thursday she might be getting out even earlier. “It’s our hope and expectation that Ms. Lohan will get additional time credit from her earlier times in custody and that would reduce her time in jail,” Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley told RadarOnline.com.

Are Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson still engaging in lovers’ quarrels? The exes had a little Twitter feud going on, suggesting still may be some bad blood — or saliva— between them.

Lindsay Lohan and on-off girlfriend Samantha Ronson are finally agreeing on one thing: The celeb DJ never abused the actress.

Lohan, 23, is shooting down RadarOnline’s recent report that she’s been telling pals that Ronson, 32, beat, punched and choked her.

“This is become a bit much,” she writes on Twitter. “Samantha R never raised a hand to me. I’ve never said she did. Enough is Enough. Focus on more important world issues.”

Ronson replied thanking Lohan for “clearing that up. The high road was giving me a nose bleed! .” She then added, “To ANYONE who perpetuates this rumour accusing me of being violently abusive after @lindsaylohan has denied it: I WILL take legal action.”

But things are hardly rosy between the two.

On Feb. 3, the former couple, who first began dating in 2008, had a showdown at the Tea Room at H. Wood in L.A.

“Lindsay started screaming and throwing cigarettes at Sam while she was deejaying,” a witness tells UsMagazine.com. “Sam ripped her laptop out of the wall and left.”
