Reps for Britney Spears and Ryan Phillippe are trying to douse the National Enquirer’s claim that the two hooked up in a bathroom at L.A. hot  spot Les Deux last week. A source told the tab that shortly after Ryan stopped by Brit’s table, “Britney had her arms around him.” The former Mrs. Kevin Federline is said to have then followed Reese Witherspoon’s estranged husband to the men’s room. Her worried bodyguards are said to have later “busted in the door and found Britney and Ryan groping and kissing.” Their mouthpieces insist they never even spoke at the club.

After stepping out in New York City last month, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson were back in action on the opposite coast Monday night, catching the Damnwells’ show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.

Reynolds, 30, and Johansson, 22, arrived separately, an observer tells PEOPLE, and greeted each other with a hug and a kiss on the lips.

“In the foyer they were talking and had their hands all over each other,” says the source. “He kissed her a couple more times in the club. He was totally sweet. She went to the restroom and he went to check up on her.”

The pair watched the show with the rest of the crowd, although the witness says fellow concertgoers recognized them: “You can’t help but recognize him because he’s tall. She had a hat on and was so tiny.”

After the show, they hung out at the club for a while before they called it a night – after Reynolds poked his head outside to check for paparazzi – and left, hand in hand.

Johansson and Reynolds (who ended his engagement to Alanis Morissette in February) spent Easter weekend together in Manhattan, where an observer at one restaurant noted: “They were a cute couple!”

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds spent a busy weekend in New York City together.

On Saturday night, the pair were seen getting close at the Manhattan restaurant Odeon. “They were in a good mood,” says one eyewitness who saw them laughing and smiling.

“They were definitely holding hands,” says another observer. “They were a cute couple!”

Johansson, 22, who is a New York native, and Reynolds, 30, who ended his engagement to Alanis Morissette in February, also spent Easter together.

The pair, who were with a group of pals, arrived at the Carlyle hotel around 4 p.m. Sunday for the $135 prix fixe brunch.

“They were having a blast,” says one witness. “It looked like a group of friends. I don’t even think they were celebrating Easter.”

Johansson recently told Seventeen she’s single and not looking for love.

“When I’m single, I don’t focus. I focus on a guy if he’s a boyfriend, but I don’t focus on finding a boyfriend,” she said.

Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have called it quits – and this time, it’s official.

Their reps, Dvora Vener and Meredith O’Sullivan, tell PEOPLE in a joint statement, “Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement.

“They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter.”

Morissette, 32, and Reynolds, 30, had previously split in June, a source close to the couple said at the time, but within weeks they were seen walking in Vancouver, holding hands in L.A. and, on Oct. 1, kissing in New York City.

The singer and the Smokin’ Aces actor, both Canadian-born, met in 2002 and dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2004.

They never announced a wedding date. “We’re just really enjoying this [engagement] phase,” Morissette told PEOPLE in 2005. Added Reynolds, “We feel like we’re already married.”

Ryan Reynolds was forced to undergo plastic surgery after badly gashing his face in a bathroom fall. The actor reveals he was in the middle of shooting a new movie in New York when he passed out at home and woke up in a pool of blood.

Reynolds says, “I fainted for the first time in my life. I don’t know what happened. I was walking through the bathroom in my house, I went down, I smashed my head open, blood poured everywhere, and then I got plastic surgery to fix it. I’m an actor, we’re supposed to (get it) anyway… I’m having trouble breathing out of one of my nipples, so I’m gonna get my boobs done next.”

I just do not get what he sees in her.

I wonder how long before she writes another angry album…this time devoted to him.

Morissette, 32, and Reynolds, 29, first met at Drew Barrymore’s birthday party in 2002 and dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2004.

In June 2005, Morissette told PEOPLE.com of her fiancé, “He’s just such a supportive creature. I feel so loved by him, in a trampoline kind of way. He’s always very happy for me.”
