Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, after a round of illegal house-sitting, are currently seeking asylum in Canada because they believe that, like Heath Ledger and David Carradine before them, they are being pursued by a cadre of Hollywood assassins, “Star Whackers” in their terminology, who are trying to kill them for advertising money.
The pair appeared on Good Morning America today to explain to Andrea Canning that they are not crazy and their predicament is real.
But they are as crazy as it gets. They’re so crazy they almost pull normal off. What is it – mental illness? Drugs? What is it!?
A judge issued an arrest warrant for Randy and Evi Quaid on Monday morning, when they failed to appear for a court hearing stemming from their arrests last month.
The couple were to appear before the judge on felony vandalism charges. They were arrested last month on suspicion that they were squatting in a home they once owned. They were charged with causing more than $5,000 in damage.
The Quaid’s are no strangers to legal troubles. They have previously been accused of defrauding an inkeeper.
Randy Quaid, 60, is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid.

Randy and Evi Quaid pressed their luck with a Santa Barbara, Calif., court – and lost.
The couple were sent to jail Monday by a judge for missing hearings in their felony case. They had been wanted as fugitives.
“They failed to make multiple court appearances so they were taken into custody this morning,” Santa Barbara court spokesman Gary Blair tells People.
Bail was set for $100,000 each, with their next court date set for Wednesday.
The pair originally were arrested in Marfa, Texas, in September 2009 after allegedly skipping out on a more than $10,000 bill at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara.
Although they have since paid their outstanding bill, prosecutors say a crime was still committed.
