Kelly Lynch said her Road House co-star Patrick Swayze, who is fighting pancreatic cancer, has the determination and the positive attitude to cope with his ordeal.
“If anyone can get through this, it’s him,” Lynch told People at the red carpet premiere on Sunday for the new Rolling Stones concert film Shine a Light at New York’s Ziegfeld Theater.
Swayze, 55, is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Lynch, 49, said Swayze is “the most determined, positive, forward-thinking person I’ve ever met.”
Lynch adds: “I say my prayers for him but I have a lot of hope that he’ll get through this.”

Patrick Swayze’s strong physique may be his greatest weapon in his fight against Pancreatic cancer. The 55-year old actor has been given new hope after finding out that the drug he’s taking to fight his illness responds better to people who are physically fit.
“The drug that Patrick Swayze is taking, Vatalanib, is still in the experimental stage,” Dr. M. Wasif Saif, Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Gastrointestinal Program at Yale Universtiy tells OK!. “But recent studies have shown promise for patients taking the drug who are in excellent physical shape.”
Patrick’s strength comes from years of horse riding and his dance training at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. East Valley Feed and Tack owner, John Fusano tells OK!, “Patrick orders supplies for his horses from us. I haven’t seen him in a while, but he’s a strapping giant of a man. He’s got tree trunks for legs!”

Patrick Swayze’s elderly mother has paid tribute to the star, insisting he “doesn’t deserve” his battle with pancreatic cancer.
The Dirty Dancing actor was recently revealed to be suffering from the potentially life-threatening disease. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy – and U.S. tabloid the National Enquirer, which broke the story, claims he has just weeks to live.
Admitting her fears for her 55-year-old son, Patsy Swayze, 81, says: “He doesn’t deserve to get this. He just doesn’t deserve it. “He’s got such a big heart. He’s been such a good and generous and thoughtful person. It breaks my heart to know he’s suffering. But he bears it and he’s determined to beat this. He’s hanging in there and getting the best treatment he can.”

Actress Lea Thompson has become the latest celebrity to offer her former co-star Patrick Swayze her full support after the actor revealed he’s suffering from pancreatic cancer. Reports the Dirty Dancing star was suffering from pancreatic cancer surfaced on Wednesday, and were later confirmed by his publicist.
And Thompson, who starred alongside Swayze in 1984′s Red Dawn, is convinced her old pal will successfully fight the disease – because of his dancing skills!
She says, “I’ve known him for so long, he’s a great guy, and I love him so much. He was such a great dancer. He will be resilient – us dancers are tough!” Earlier on Thursday, Whoopi Goldberg sent her Ghost co-star Swayze her best during the live broadcast of U.S. TV show The View.

I reported earlier this morning that Patrick Swayze was rumored to have terminal cancer. I hoped it wasn’t true – but I had this feeling it was. Well, unfortunately I was right. It has been confirmed by his rep:
Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and might only have weeks to live, a rep for the star said today.
The 55-year-old star’s publicist confirmed to Page Six that he’s suffering from pancreatic cancer, which could tragically bring down the curtain on his remarkably diverse career.
Patrick was diagnosed with the cancer more than a month ago.
The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years.

Update from People:
Patrick Swayze, who starred in Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his doctor says.
“Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far,” Dr. George Fisher says in a statement. “All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.”
The actor’s rep adds: “Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

This rumor is definitely gaining speed on the internet, and I hope it’s not true.
Patrick Swayze is dying from cancer and has just five weeks to live, according to The National Enquirer.
The magazine says the star of Dirty Dancing and Ghost was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January and that it has spread to other organs.
They claim Swayze has been having radical chemotherapy treatment recently but that doctors are not optimistic it will kill the disease.
An insider told The National Enquirer: “He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short – they held out little hope for a cure.”
Sure, I know it’s The National Enquirer…but they’re not always wrong. That’s the scary part.
