Kylie Minogue has denied rekindling her relationship with French actor Olivier Martinez - insisting she can’t even be friends with him. The couple sparked rumors that they were back together after the star was spotted visiting Martinez’s French home during the summer. However Minogue is adamant she was only in Paris to see the couple’s pets - and has no plans to spend any time with her ex.

She says, “I saw him in Paris because that’s where my dogs are. But we are not back together and I think he has another girlfriend. I like to remain on good terms with my ex-boyfriends, but I’m not ready to be friends with Olivier.”

The pair ended their four-year romance in February after Martinez was romantically linked to actress Michelle Rodriguez and Israeli model Sarai Givati.

But The Mail on Sunday can reveal that the couple have recently enjoyed at least two romantic rendezvous in Paris.

After one lunch meeting, Kylie, who was visiting the French capital for a routine check-up at Tenon Hospital, was spotted kissing and embracing Martinez outside a cafe on the Left Bank, close to where the 41-year-old actor has a home.

The couple have remained friends since their split, and the actor often allows Kylie to stay in his flat in the fashionable St Germain district - but this was the first time they have been in the city together. And both Kylie and Martinez have come to realise they are the love of each other’s lives, according to friends.

“Kylie has made regular visits to Olivier’s home in Paris over the past few weeks,” a friend revealed. “And recently their relationship has begun to redevelop.

“Things started to progress when Kylie flew over for a hospital appointment. They went for a heart-to-heart lunch and thrashed out a few issues.

A second source said: “Kylie put on a chic black dress and headscarf to look as Parisian as possible. She loves the look, and knows Ollie does, too. We were all delighted to see them back together again. She always says she’s at her happiest in Paris, and especially with Ollie. She still calls him the love of her life.

“Since their split they’ve talked to each other on the phone constantly, but it’s only in the past few weeks that they’ve started meeting again. It would be wonderful if they got back together and the signs look good.

“While Kylie was recovering from chemotherapy, she spent weeks at Olivier’s flat, and he was there for her. She has such fond memories.

“It sounds sad but Kylie also loves Olivier’s dog, Sheba, and takes him for walks whenever she’s in Paris. Olivier loves that.”

The pair split shortly after Kylie was given the all-clear for cancer. Olivier was accused of cheating on her after he was photographed with 24-year-old Israeli model Sarai Givati - although at the time Kylie denied her boyfriend had been unfaithful.

Encouraged by a group of drummers, the actress eventually began waving her arms around. But it wasn’t until Jolie started dancing for Martinez that things got really wild.

“She turned to him on the banquette and was shaking it in front of him. She was giving him a lap dance, ” another reveler tells Us. “She was looking over her shoulder, tossing a glance his way.”

As another partygoer describes it, “It was very, very flirty.”

“When she is with someone she knows, she might appear to be flirtatious, but it’s just affection.”

French actor Olivier Martinez was comforted by Penelope Cruz in Los Angeles on Saturday, just 12 hours after splitting from pop star Kylie Minogue. The star was pictured embracing the Oscar nominee at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont Hotel - the place where he met and fell for the singer four years ago.

An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, “Does Olivier really have to rub Kylie’s nose in it? He is being so brazen about it all. This will devastate her. Kylie is a very sensitive woman who loved him with all her heart but he looks like he doesn’t have a care in the world.”

The pair issued a statement on Friday saying, “Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple. They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The media’s false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends.”

Martinez had sparked rumours of a split with the star in December after he was spotted with Israeli model Sarai Givati and Lost star Michelle Rodriguez.

“Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple,” says the statement issued by reps for the couple. “They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The two remain very close friends.”

The pop princess and Martinez are both, it says, “saddened by false [media] accusations of disloyalty.”

The couple’s parting follows reports that Martinez, 41, was seen with younger women in Los Angeles twice last week while Minogue, 38, remained in Britain.

The Australian entertainer is recovering from a respiratory infection, which caused her to cancel several concert dates in the UK last month. The gigs were part of her worldwide comeback Showgirl tour following her battle to beat cancer.

Minogue earlier this year credited Martinez, who appeared in Unfaithful with Diane Lane and Richard Gere in 2002, with helping her through the dark days of her breast cancer battle. She was diagnosed with the disease in May of 2005.

“He was always there, helping with the practical stuff and being protective,” said Minogue, who was given the all-clear last year. “He was incredible. He didn’t hesitate in canceling work and putting projects on hold so he could be with me. He’s the most honorable man I have ever met.”

Minogue began dating Martinez after they met at the Grammy Awards in 2003. After dining in Beverly Hills, Martinez drove her back to her hotel in his 1969 cream convertible E-type Jaguar.
