Singer-turned-actress Norah Jones was overwhelmed after sharing love scenes with Jude Law in her movie debut My Blueberry Nights, because the onscreen couple had to kiss over 90 times.
Jones, 29, and the Alfie star lock lips twice in the film - and the first of their embraces took three days to film.
She says, “It was an interesting situation and it was just plain weird. I had to kiss Jude about 90 times and I didn’t want to laugh, but it seemed so ridiculous. What in the world am I doing kissing Jude Law? He’s Jude… and I’m… me. We laughed a lot between takes. It was actually very choreographed, but there was beautiful music playing in the background. Now when I hear that music I think about kissing Jude Law.”
Soul star Amy Winehouse’s multiple Grammy nods have boosted sales of her sophomore album Back To Black, winning her a place in the U.K.’s Top Ten best-selling albums of the 21st century.
The LP has sold more than 2.4 million copies in Winehouse’s native country since its October 2006 release, with over 318,000 of those having been sold in the last 10 weeks.
Back To Black replaces Norah Jones’Come Away With Me in the countdown, but James Blunt’sBack To Bedlam is still the most popular album in the U.K. - it’s sold in excess of 3.1 million copies to date since hitting store shelves in 2004.
Winehouse scooped five Grammy Awards including prizes for Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year at the prestigious 10 February ceremony.
Norah Jones likes to spend the big bucks on her struggling artist friends. She has said that she can remember what it was like to be a struggling performer, so she makes her artist friends’ lives easier by treating them to gourmet dinners and luxury holidays.
Jones says, “I don’t really have a major extravagance. I do get excited when I take my friends for a nice dinner - because most of them are still struggling artists, and don’t have much money. I also took them on holiday to Costa Rica and that was great. It’s nice to be able to do things like that.”
Sultry-voiced singer Norah Jones has reportedly split from her long-term boyfriend Lee Alexander.
The 28-year-old singer - who shot to fame in 2002 with her debut album Come Away with Me, had dated her band’s bassist Lee Alexander for several years.
But the couple apparently broke up during the Christmas period.
And Alexander was spotted “trying to mend his broken heart” by partying in New York.
The couple - who penned her last album ‘Not Too Late’ - plan to remain “friends” and work together in the future.
