For Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, the wedding bells can wait – at least for a little while.

“We don’t have any plans for that right now,” Madden told People on Wednesday. “We’re just happy, and we’re being a family, and that’s where we’re at right now. But marriage means something different to everyone.”

As a celebrity DJ at the Oakley/Suzuki Celebrity Ride Day event in Perris, Calif., Madden took turns spinning records, and quelling notions of a summer rush to the altar.

“Right now we’re really happy,” the Good Charlotte frontman says, “and we’re concentrating on our family, and that’s what is making us happy right now. We’re moving at our own pace.”

The new father has his mind now on raising little daughter Harlow. “It’s crazy,” he says. “Every day she does something new. When she reaches for me, it’s awesome! Just watching her grow, it melts me!”

Former Simple Life star Nicole Richie, 26, will expand her presence on the small screen this fall, when she appears in an episode of the NBC comedy Chuck, the network announced exclusively to People. And Richie will be playing a role all too familiar in Young Hollywood: the Mean Girl.

According to NBC, Richie will play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured” actress Yvonne Strahovski’s character in high school. In the episode, airing sometime this fall, Strahovski’s character, Special Agent Sarah Walker, “must face her fears when she is forced to attend her 10-year high school reunion,” for a mission with costar Zachary Levi (Chuck) as her date.

Chuck’s executive producer Josh Schwartz says, “Nicole auditioned for the part and was very funny. This role is a great opportunity for her to show off her comedic skills and be diabolically evil and kick some butt. It’s going to be really fun.”

Richie has also guest-starred on 8 Simple Rules … for Dating My Teenage Daughter and American Dreams.

Nicole Richie is convinced she owes her life to her baby daughter Harlow – because she would have spiralled out of control if she hadn’t become pregnant.

The 26-year-old was a regular on the Los Angeles party scene before she fell pregnant last year, and had several brushes with the law including a drunk driving conviction.

And Richie is sure that if she hadn’t become a mother in January, she would have fallen prey to alcohol and drug addictions that often ravage young stars.

He tells British magazine New, “I never took life seriously before. I’m in a completely different place now. I owe my baby my life. I have a responsibility now. I have to really be someone I want my child to look up to. I’d really like to show how much I appreciate the fact that I’m still here, because I almost didn’t get the chance.”

Paris Hilton has laughed off rumors she will wed boyfriend Benji Madden in a joint ceremony with her best friend Nicole Richie and his twin brother Joel.

The socialite recently admitted she would love to start a family with the Good Charlotte rocker and eventually make her relationship with Benji official.

But she insists any talk of a ceremony with Richie and her beau Joel is completely inaccurate.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, she says, “I’ve been hearing that rumor. But no, I think we both would want to have separate weddings.”

However, she is looking forward to hitting the road with her pal and their respective boyfriends for the Good Charlotte tour.

She adds, “It’s weird… we’re dating twins but it’s pretty perfect. We are all going on tour this summer, so I’m really excited about that.”
