Nick Stahl was M.I.A. most of last week, which prompted his wife to report him missing to the police. The ‘Terminator’ actor has reportedly turned himself into rehab, according to TMZ.
The 32-year-old actor was reported missing earlier this week by his wife Rose — but e-mailed friends yesterday to say he was okay and would be unreachable for the next 30 days so he could get help.
Stahl’s wife, Rose, tells TMZ she spoke to the actor last night — very briefly — and he told her he checked into rehab. Rose says she double-checked with the rehab this morning to make sure he was still there — and he was.
Rose tells TMZ she is not even thinking about divorce right now — she is just glad he is safe. Rose says the couple’s daughter has been asking about Nick’s whereabouts lately … and Rose is glad she can now say that daddy is safe and will be home soon.
Rose says she plans to visit Nick in rehab as much as possible, but she doesn’t know how long his stay in rehab will be.
I’m so glad this story ended well. I was really worried there for a while they were going to find him in a ditch somewhere. Hopefully he’s getting the help he needs to get clean – and stay clean. At least for his child’s sake.
On Monday, Nick Stahl’s wife reported him missing. Sources tell E! that he has been spotted since his wife filed the report. The same source says that it isn’t uncommon for Nick to disappear like this.
“He does this sometimes,” the eyewitness exclusively tells E! News. “He’ll be back.”
So, where did our insider last see the Terminator: Rise of the Machines star?
Two sources tell E! News that Stahl, wearing a white T-shirt and tan pants, was spotted carrying boxes outside a West Hollywood apartment complex on May 10, the day after the actor’s estranged wife, Roseann, says she last saw him.
The person Stahl talked to at the complex would not comment on his visitor’s mindset at the time, but says that the 32-year-old father took off last Friday or Saturday.
Roseann contacted police on Monday.
Stahl and his wife had been locked in a custody battle since February, when Roseann filed court documents to request that he only be allowed supervised visits with their 2-year-old daughter—and that he be ordered to take a drug test before he saw the child.
The 32-year-old actor played John Connor in ‘Terminator 3′, was last seen in Los Angeles’ run down Skid Row district on May 9, according to the missing persons report. His wife (pictured below) filed the report with the Los Angeles Police on Monday.
Stahl’s career spanned more than 20 years, including roles in movies as varied as “The Thin Red Line,” “Sin City” and “In The Bedroom.” He got his breakout role starring alongside Mel Gibson as 12-year-old Chuck Norstadt in 1993′s “The Man Without A Face.”
Stahl married Murphy in June 2009; the couple was photographed bringing their newborn baby to a dinner in Los Angeles in June 2010.
The trio are in town to promote their new film, “Sleepwalking.”
The story revolves around James Reedy (Nick Stahl), a simple man who leads a less than ordinary existence. When his sister Joleen (Theron) seemingly abandons her daughter Tara (AnnaSophia Robb) with him, Reedy finds himself ill equipped to deal with the care of his 11-year-old niece.
Faced with the prospect of losing Tara to a foster home, James manages to overcome his complacency, stealing away with the girl and taking to the road. In the course of their uneasy journey, their bond slowly begins to grow, as Tara must come to terms with her mother’s disappearance. James, for the first time, is forced to truly examine long buried past events and the consequences they have had on his life, and determine whether they will continue to haunt his future.
“Sleepwalking” is helmed by Bill Maher (not the “Politically Incorrect” guy), who is a visual effects expert and will be making his directorial debut. His new film will premier at Sundance and will then hit theaters on March 14th, in limited release.
