Neil Patrick Harris feels nothing but excitement and happiness because he’s a new father!

He and his partner David Burtka welcomed their twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace via surrogate only six weeks ago. He admits that he’s still getting used to having the babies around.

Us Magazine reports:

The little boy, he said Monday on CBS’ The Talk, is “a great burper!…Babies, they can burp!” the How I Met Your Mother actor, 37, gushed. “I’ve never been happier.”

Gideon “sleeps all the time,” but little Harper is “fussier,” he said, explaining that she suffered from “some sort of lower G.I. [problem]…she’s always working through something.”

“It feels awful,” he admitted. “All you want as a parent is to make sure they’re okay and that they’re comfortable.”

He and Burtka tried a hypoallergenic formula and then finally consulted with an ostopath — which did the trick. “It was fantastic,” the star said. “[Harper] sort of snapped and was a different person. Super calm. Everything is much better.”

He and his partner have warmed up to one parenting practice: swaddling. “Swaddling, we thought, was ridiculous,” he admitted before learning to love swaddle time with his little ones.

I bet they’re awesome fathers to their new babies! I love NPH, he’s one of my favorite actors.

Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner David Burtka will have their hands full later this year. The actor confirmed the pair are expecting twins.

“So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…” he wrote on Twitter.

According to E! Online, which was first to report the news, the couple are going to become parents with the help of a surrogate.

The couple have been together for about six years.

Neil Patrick Harris is bringing British television to the U.S. – the actor is in talks to host and produce the American version of U.K. game show The Cube.

The show, which places contestants in a small plastic cube to induce stress while they perform physical tasks, has become a smash hit in Britain.

And the How I Met Your Mother star is traveling to London later this year to record a pilot for an adaptation for U.S. network CBS, reports TheWrap.com.

In addition to hosting, Harris will also serve as executive producer.

The Cube is the latest hosting gig for Harris, who has already served as the master of ceremonies for the Emmys, the Tony Awards and the TV Land Awards.

She loves to fly, and it shows!

As previously reported, country singer Carrie Underwood makes her sitcom debut in March on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother.

Show regular Neil Patrick Harris posted a TwitPic of him with Underwood from the set. As womanizing character Barney, Harris is sure to ogle Underwood — dressed in a retro airline stewardess’ outfit, complete with an upswept ‘do, white boots and a polka-dotted scarf!

“This week’s awesome guest star: HIMYM – You’ll Love The Way We Fly! ” reads Harris’ caption, suggesting a saucy airline theme.

2010 promises to be a fab year of firsts for Underwood, 26: her first sitcom appearance and a wedding to fiance Mike Fisher sometime this summer.

In the obvious news of the day, word comes from Auseillo Files that Neil Patrick Harris will be starring in an episode of “Glee”.

Remember that giant scoop I told you (via Twitter) I had gotten at the Golden Globes? This is it: Neil Patrick Harris is nearing a deal to appear in the May sweeps Glee episode that’s being helmed by his Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog director, Joss Whedon.

In retrospect, maybe I should’ve called this particular scoop “ginormous.” I think it’s warranted, don’t you?

Anyway, Harris wants to do it, and Glee creator Ryan Murphy sure as hell wants him to — he’s creating a role especially for the How I Met Your Mother scene-stealer. And yes, the part includes a little song-’n’-dance. In fact, the gig not only would reunite Harris with Whedon, it’d also reteam him with Zachary Woodlee, who choreographed the musical number in HIMYM’s recent 100th episode.

The one possible snag — and there’s always one, isn’t there? CBS has to OK its MVP’s appearance on Fox’s breakout hit. But at least since HIMYM and Glee are both produced by 20th Century Fox, so there’s no conflict on their end.
