Supermodel Naomi Campbell looks like she is falling over drunk — but she insisted she was just playing a game.

Naomi, 38, slumped in the street after a night out.

Her eyes glazed over and her limbs went limp as she fell into the arms of a girl on the Italian isle of Capri.

A mystery man clubbing with her tried to grab her arm.

But the catwalk queen — facing possible jail if convicted on air rage charges next Friday — said she was NOT drunk.

Her agent told The Sun: “It was just a bit of fun and not down to drink. Naomi was playing this trust game, where you fall into a friend’s arms.

“It’s very hot there, so that could also have had something to do with it.”

Naomi is accused of assaulting cops in a lost baggage row at Heathrow in April.

Naomi Campbell has paid tribute to late designer Yves Saint Laurent praising his role in promoting black models in the fashion world.

Saint Laurent died from a brain tumor at his home in Paris, France on Sunday.

The fashion legend was the first designer to use black models the catwalk – and launched Campbell’s career in the 1990s.

In a tearful tribute, Campbell said Saint Laurent had “done so much for people of color”.

She says, “My first Vogue cover ever was because of this man. Because when I said to him ‘Yves, they won’t give me a French Vogue cover, they won’t put a black girl on the cover’ and he was like ‘I’ll take care of that,’ and he did. He was the king of fashion. He created pret-a-porter, he was the first designer to put women of color on the runway, he was extremely important in my career, giving me one of my first jobs.”

Last week, Campbell signed a comeback deal to front the company’s autumn/winter 2008 campaign.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is returning to the fashion house that kick-started her catwalk career – she’s to replace Kate Moss as the face of Yves Saint Laurent.

The British beauty has signed a $400,000 deal with the French designer and will front the company’s autumn/winter 2008 campaign.

She says, “I’m blessed and grateful to be working with YSL again, a house that gave me a start in my career.”

Her first project for Yves Saint Laurent was in the 1990s when she was a fledgling star.

The move comes just days after she was charged with allegedly assaulting a police officer following her arrest at London’s Heathrow airport in April.

Naomi Campbell has been charged after her arrest on suspicion of assaulting a police officer at Heathrow last month.

The 37-year-old was detained at the airport’s new Terminal 5 in April after a row broke out between the model and airline staff when she was informed that some of her baggage had been lost.

As a result of the row, police were called and Campbell was arrested, handcuffed and led off the plane, before being later released on bail.

She answered bail at Heathrow police station today (Thursday May 29th) and was charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer, as well as disorderly conduct and threatening behavior towards a cabin crew member.

She will appear at Uxbridge magistrate’s court on June 20th to answer the charges.

Campbell was banned from flying with British Airways (BA) after the airport scuffle, though her spokeswoman said at the time it was hoped the dispute could be “resolved amicably”.

However, a spokesman for the airline said last month: “All incidents of abusive or disruptive behaviour towards fellow passengers or staff are taken extremely seriously and will not be tolerated.

“We deal with cases on an individual basis and take appropriate action where necessary.”

Last year Ms Campbell was sentenced to community service in New York after being convicted of assault.

As punishment for throwing a mobile phone at her maid the model was made to clean toilets and sweep floors for five days.

Naomi Campbell is to be immortalized in a set of giant sculptures by British photographer Nick Knight.

The catwalk beauty – who Knight has described as “one of the most famous and beautiful women in the world” – has been modelling for the artist to help him create the unique 30 foot tall pieces, with the help of three-dimensional scanners.

Knight says the first two sculptures will depict Campbell “straddling the barrel of a large tank”, while another will be a “circle of three Naomis, like The Three Graces”.

Naomi Campbell stepped out with a controversial new beau at the Cannes Film Festival in France on Wednesday – her date was a convicted swindler.

The runway queen – who has an assault conviction to her name – arrived at the premiere of new movie Che with Christian Rocancourt, a fraudster who has spent five years in prison for stealing millions of dollars from investors.

According to the New York Post, Rocancourt, 40, has impersonated members of Manhattan’s famous Rothschild and Rockefeller families and pretended to be the son of actress Sophia Loren in the past, to dupe investors out of money.

Campbell celebrated her 38th birthday after the premiere, with a party aboard Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ yacht.
