What’s up with his faux hawk? And why is she at Sundance? She annoys me. I think it’s because her eyes never open all the way. Or maybe it’s the fact that she has no upper lip. Or maybe it’s because it’s the end of the day and everything annoys me right now.

MTV apparently will be looking for another magazine partner for its hit series “The Hills” next season. The show’s second season ended with Lauren Conrad and her partner in crime, Teen Vogue intern Whitney Port, going to Paris to assist then-senior editor Kimball Hastings as he covered the Crillon Ball. Port is listed as West Coast fashion contributor and Conrad as intern in Teen Vogue’s March issue, the same one where the Crillon Ball coverage will appear, but, according to a spokeswoman, their presence will cease to exist after that. “The girls have moved on from Teen Vogue,” she said, declining to say whether or not Teen Vogue will be part of the series next time (which probably means it won’t be). The two partners benefited greatly from cross-promotion — Teen Vogue featured both girls on its August 2007 cover, a top seller for the year, and Conrad by herself on its June/July 2006 cover. An MTV spokeswoman did not return calls for comment by press time.

The Gauntlet III is the 15th season of the Real World/Road Rules Challenge and the third of the Gauntlet series. The teams will be in the format of The Gauntlet II, designated Veterans and Rookies, based on the number of prior Challenge seasons on which each cast member has competed.
After each team challenge, the losing team captain would be sent to the Gauntlet, where they would face an opponent of the same sex and same team who was voted into the Gauntlet by the opposing team. Gauntlets alternated between males and females.
Filming took place south of the border in sunny Mexico. The host once again this year is BMX Biker TJ Lavin. The season premieres on MTV January 23rd, 2008.

When we last left The Hills, Heidi Montag announced she needed time “to think” alone and then walked out on fiance Spencer Pratt. The season finale ended with fans wondering what was next for the couple most viewers love to hate.
In an exclusive interview in the new Us Weekly on newsstands today, an often tense Montag and Pratt explain why their engagement ended, and claim they are still together – but with no plans to wed.
Says Montag,”We’re just going back to being boyfriend and girlfriend…” as Pratt interjects without mockery, “…when our relationship was flawless.”
So where is Montag’s engagement ring? “I turned it into a pendant,” she says. “It wasn’t my dream ring. I don’t like what it represents. I might sell it.”
As for Lauren Conrad? When asked if she might be laughing at them, Montag tells Us, “It would be really sad if she did, but her opinions don’t affect me at all. She’s not a part of my life anymore.”
Meanwhile, Pratt says he’s sorry: “I need to accept that Heidi wants her princess wedding and that she is the boss.” Montag, for her part, doesn’t sound ready to give up quite yet: “I have a high tolerance for pain. I’ve lived with Spencer.”
