MTV has ordered 12 episodes of a new docu-series that follows a group of virgins.
The untitled show will follow the lives of several abstinent young people (ages 18 to 25) who must handle their love lives, sexually active friends, and the pressures to give into temptations. During each episode, MTV will follow cast members who are “plagued with the overwhelming question of keeping their virginity… or losing it.”
The show will include messaging from MTV’s Peabody-winning “It’s Your (Sex) Life” campaign, which aims to empower young people to make better decisions about their sexual health.
I feel like MTV’s shows ruin people’s lives…. very rarely do you see someone coming from an MTV show, who has had a better life on the other side of it. Creating a show about virgins just really feels like an all-new-low…. As my mom would say, is NOTHING sacred anymore?

Former MTV VJ Kennedy claims in her new autobiography that Michael Jordan once asked to sleep with her – over a dice game.
Lisa Kennedy Montgomery, who went by Kennedy in the 90’s, reveals in her book that at the time, she was a virgin. She was having dinner with Russell Simmons and basketball star Michael Jordan at the Bowery Bar in NYC, when the three began playing a game of dice. After a while, Jordan announced “If I win, you come back to my hotel room with me tonight.”
Kennedy balked, and asked if she could play for Knicks tickets instead. Jordan then said he could give her Nets tickets – and announced he was a married man.
“Sure, he’ll filet my vag like a sea bass if he won at dice on a men’s room floor,” Kennedy wrote. “But as soon as I want basketball tickets he’s a Promise Keeper?”

MTV, VH1 and CMT are actually going to show real-live music videos for a FULL DAY on the Fourth of July! The networks announced the news today, saying they’re going to throw a “Music Independence Day” party, showing videos and giving an audience to artists who are having a hard time breaking out.
“This harkens back to the core of these music brands,” said Van Toffler, head of the Viacom Networks.
MTV on July Fourth will have hours devoted to particular music genres, highlighting artists like Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. VH1 will show videos and performances from the likes of Alicia Keys, Pink and Maroon 5, and telecast a live concert that night from Philadelphia featuring the Roots and John Mayer. CMT will offer a “barbecue playlist” of artists like the Avett Brothers, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.
The networks are also offering emerging bands a chance to set up their own online pages on the Artist Platform and compete to have their videos shown on TV. Even if they don’t make it on the air, it’s good exposure and provides a gathering place for fans, Toffler said.
It’s about damn time! Remember when these channels actually aired music videos? Those were the days!
