“My shirtless photo-shoot days are behind me,” Mario Lopez tells People in a bitter blow to beefcake.

Not that the buff new Extra host has anything to hide. “Obviously, being healthy and staying fit are important to me,” says the 34-year-old, who in the past seemed like the only serious rival to Matthew McConaughey in the bare-chest sweepstakes.

As of Monday, former The Bold and the Beautiful and Dancing with the Stars favorite Lopez – who was also memorably bare-bottomed in the shower for a 2006 episode of Nip/Tuck – will be happily hosting Extra on his own, full-time.

“My TV projects are my main priority,” he says. “And no, you will never see me host Extra without a shirt.”

Still, to every rule there’s an exception – in this case, Nip/Tuck.

Lopez says he is “thrilled” to be reprising the role of Dr. Mike Hamoui on the cable series, with Dr. Mike moving to Los Angeles – where he can once again gain the attention of the ab-admiring Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) in the locker room.

“A small spoiler,” says Lopez. “Dr. Mike might not be taking anymore showers at the gym with Christian, but he will lose his shirt.”

It looks like the romance between Karina Smirnoff and Mario Lopez could be back on!

The gorgeous twosome, who ended an almost 2-year-long relationship earlier this summer, were recently spied canoodling over dinner at NYC’s Meatpacking District hotspot Bagatelle.

“They were super-flirty,” says an eyewitness of the love fest, “and very happy, kissing and cuddling.”

After Mario finished off a rib-eye steak and then split five hearty appetizers with his apparently on-again lady, the two (who were the last people in the restaurant) headed to the neighboring club Kiss & Fly for after-dinner drinks.

The Saved By The Bell star met professional dancer Karina in 2006 when they were partners on the third season of Dancing With The Stars.

When OK! first spoke to Mario and Karina after their split, they each played the blame game — on themselves!

“Right now, I wouldn’t make a good girlfriend,” explained Karina, who added that she “thinks the world” of the hunky actor.

Meanwhile, Mario pointed the finger at himself for the split. “I wouldn’t date me right now,” he confessed to OK!. “It wouldn’t be much fun.”

“I love dancing and she’s the best partner and the best teacher, and I’d be honored if she would dance with me,” Lopez told People at ESPN The Magazine’s ESPY Style Studio Monday. So does that mean everything is amicable between the two, despite her recent claims of his cheating? “Oh yeah, everything’s all good.”

Never far from the dance floor – Lopez is currently starring in A Chorus Line – insists he is a solo act these days.

“I’m not looking for Miss Right right now. I’m just sort of working on becoming Mr. Right. Make sure it happens. It’s going to happen,” he said. So he isn’t dating anyone? “No, unfortunately I haven’t had a chance. I’ve just been working. I’m just dating my Broadway show and my book.”

People’s 34-year-old Hottest Bachelor does admit that his steamy spread in the magazine has brought him no shortage of female admirers. “People come up to me and ask me to sign it a lot. [They say] ‘What were you thinking?’ And ‘how did it feel?’ And ‘you’re naked!’ And ‘oh my gosh!’ And ‘my mother and my grandmother, they put it up in their room.’ And it’s funny. I didn’t think it was going to cause such a big stir.”

Mario Lopez has turned down a $200,000 offer to strip naked for Playgirl magazine.

Bosses for the publication approached him with the cash deal recently after they saw a series of photographs of the hunk’s buff body in U.S. tabloids.

The actor, who is currently starring in A Chorus Line on Broadway, says, “It’s not something for me at the moment.”

Fergie is making girls around the world salivate with jealousy after actor Mario Lopez revealed she was the lucky girl to steal his first kiss.

The pair starred together as children in 1980s popular series Kids Incorporated before their careers took off, and began dating when Lopez was a mere ten-years-old.

But the actor – recently awarded People magazine’s Hottest Bachelor in 2008 – admits he’s not ashamed to boast of his famous first liaison, because stardom hasn’t changed Fergie’s charming ways.

He tells the magazine, “I’m very proud of my first kiss! It was with Fergie… She says there was no tongue… She like to point out that I was very smooth because I bought her perfume. She has stayed just as sweet as when we were kids.”
