Queen of soul Aretha Franklin has topped a poll of the worst-dressed celebrities due to her fondness for fur.

The lists compilers, animal rights charity PETA, said that the singer had been propelled into the number one spot after donning a “massive” fur coat at the recent Grammy Awards.

Previously the organization’s vice president had sent the singer a letter criticizing her Grammy fashion faux pas.

According to a report on Access Hollywood he advised her to follow in the footsteps of Mariah Carey and donate her furs to charity, adding that they make her look like a “clown”.

Other celebrities featured on the list included Eva Longoria, who was singled out for her “trashy furs” and Lindsay Lohan who has donned fur on the red carpet.

Even pop princess Kylie Minogue garnered enough votes for an inclusion after she was seen sporting a python purse “at a time when there was controversy about skins and how these animals are killed by being impaled upon a tree”.

Representing male celebrities was rock god Marilyn Manson who was criticized for his love of leather.

British supermodel Kate Moss was branded a “super tramp” by the organization for the fur components of her wardrobe.

Tens of thousands of internet users voted online to decide which celebrities were fashion criminals.

Yvonne Taylor, a representative of the charity, said: “When fans see this cruelty and their idols appear to encourage it, they are appalled.”

Marilyn Masnon’s new absinthe has left a nasty taste in the mouths of the world’s alcohol experts. Beverage critics have slammed the new Mansinthe, claiming it smells like “sewage water” and has a “mediocre” taste. An expert panel has judged the 66.6 per cent proof beverage for website Epicurious.com. The verdict: “Did Mansinthe have what it takes to be a premium absinthe? The answer is, sadly, no. The number one problem was the aroma, which some verbally compared to sewage water or swamp mud. “With the exception of a lone taster, the panel felt it wasn’t really worth wading through the odour to get to mediocre flavour anyway.” Mansinthe, which is manufactured in Switzerland, is not legally available in Manson’s native America.

Rose McGowan isn’t showing much guilt about removing director Robert Rodriguez from his wife, Elizabeth Avellan. McGowan and Rodriguez nuzzled for the cameras at Wednesday’s AmFAR benefit in Cannes. But McGowan doesn’t seem as inured to Dita Von Teese, the woman Marilyn Manson married instead of her — McGowan stepped outside during Von Teese’s burlesque act. Meanwhile, artist-director Julian Schnabel seemed bothered when bidding slowed on his artworks at the auction. “It’s not a party favor,” Schnabel grumbled. “I don’t know if anybody understands or cares about art in this room.” Most everyone was bothered by the heat. Marilyn Manson is trying to block any future claim of spousal support from estranged wife Dita Von Teese in divorce papers filed today.

Manson also lists the date of separation from the burlesque dancer as Halloween (aw, how romantic!) - not Christmas Eve as she claimed.

Both Manson, 38, and Von Teese, 34, cite “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

Manson attempted to block any claims of spousal support, although Von Teese currently has not asked for any. He also wants her to pay her own legal fees, while she is seeking to have him pay for the divorce. Von Teese filed for divorce on 29 December, after just over a year of marriage.

Marilyn’s a bitch.  But that’s just my opinion.

Just one year after shock rocker Marilyn Manson took burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese to be his gothly wedded bride, Dita wants out.

TMZ has obtained divorce papers filed by Von Teese, real name Heather Sweet, in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the documents, Von Teese cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for kicking the King of Goth Rock, real name Brian Warner, to the curb. According to Sweet, the couple called it quits on Christmas Eve. Goth humbug!

While the papers were filed on December 29, a source close to the couple tells Page Six that Manson has been in the dark on the split, because Von Teese can’t get in touch with the guy. “She tried to tell him she was divorcing him, but she can’t even get him on the phone.” Page Six also claims that Manson’s alcohol use may have oiled up the breakup.

Manson and Von Teese had a star-studded wedding ceremony in Ireland in December of 2005. Keanu Reeves, Lisa Maria Presley and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were among the guests.
