Katherine Heigl and husband Josh Kelley at the Paris premiere of ‘One for the Money’

‘One for the Money’ is tanking at the box office, and I know you’re shocked. It did open with an okay $11.7 million, but shockingly (ahem), it dropped 74% in the ratings after only one week. Maybe part of it’s opening weekend success had something to do with the Groupon that was offered? Lionsgate offered discounted tickets on Groupon for One for the Money last week, prior to the movie opening. Roughly 20 million Groupon members were offered the chance to buy one ticket for $6, and $12 for two tickets.

Maybe it’ll fare better overseas?

Katherine Heigl Isn’t A Fan Of ‘Dance Moms’.

Katherine Heigl got a look at the reality series “Dance Moms” and (like most of the rest of us) was pretty shocked at what she saw! She talked about it in a post on iVillage.

“I watched with open-mouthed amazement as girls as young as seven were encouraged to dress provocatively and shimmy around a stage doing a dance performance that could just as easily been a burlesque routine.”

“I kept thinking all these girls were missing is a pole! I was also horrified by the way their instructor spoke to them when she felt they weren’t up to snuff.  It was demeaning, belittling, and downright unkind.”

“There is no reason to break anyone down in order to prepare them for inevitable disappointment or unkindness.   There is no reason to diminish anyone’s self-esteem in order to get them to try harder next time. Especially not a child’s.”

“It’s one thing to walk into a club and see 20-somethings embracing their sexuality and having some fun, but it’s another thing altogether watching 7-year-olds shake their booties, bellies and nonexistent boobies on a stage in a room full of adults and be handed a trophy for it. What in the world are we telling them? That sexy is the prize and is the talent they have?”

“The young girls on Dance Moms are wonderfully talented, spirited ladies who should be encouraged to perform since they seem to truly have a knack for it.  I just wish they were being inspired, instructed and supported for their gifts as I was when I found my creative path.”

Have you seen the show? Is it horrible or entertaining, in your opinion?

Katherine Heigl at the NYC premiere of her new movie, ‘One For the Money’

Katherine Heigl’s new movie, ‘One for the Money’ opens up this week. I have little to no interest in seeing this movie. First of all – Katherine Heigl’s in it. Second of all…. okay, that’s it. I know a lot of you love her – and that’s fine by me…I’m just not a huge fan. Maybe she should go back to ‘Greys’ (she wants to), I actually liked her on that.

Look what I got in my inbox today… I’m thinking it’s not a good sign when you’re movie’s not even out yet, and they’re already offering 60% off prices.

Katherine Heigl is sorry she left ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Katherine Heigl admitted this morning that every now and then she regrets leaving ‘Grey’s Anatomy’.

“Oh yeah, sometimes,” she said on Monday’s “The View,” when Barbara Walters asked the “One for the Money” actress if she was sorry she left the ABC drama.

“You miss it — I miss it,” Katherine continued as she cuddled daughter Naleigh, who earlier ran up on stage and decided to join her mom’s interview. “I miss my friends. It was a great work environment in that we all got along really well, and it becomes a family. I spent six years with these people every day… We grew up in a way.”

Katherine admits that she hasn’t been asket back yet to play Dr. Izzie since she left in 2010, but she’s willing to come back – if even for an episode or two.

“I think that for me, it’s sort of… I want them to know that I’m down with it if they want me to, but I completely understand if it doesn’t necessarily work into [the story],” she said. “They’ve got a lot of storylines going on there.”

The actress had a headline-raising run during her time on “Grey’s,” including in 2008, when she withdrew her name from Emmy contention, telling the Los Angeles Times’ Gold Derby at the time, “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention.”

She also told USA Today in 2010, after she left “Grey’s,” that she had started to dislike her character before her departure.

“I felt very protective of Izzie. I really loved her,” Katherine told the paper in June 2010. “I felt she was an admirable woman who certainly made mistakes. But I was starting to not like her, and that bothered me.”

Here are some new pictures of Katherine, her mom Nancy, and her daughter Naleigh at LAX.

Katherine Heigl Blogs on Infidelities & Being a “Serial Monogamist”

Actress Katherine Heigl took to her iVillage blog to let the world know that in her four years of marriage to Josh Kelly, she’s never looked at another man, let alone been tempted to cheat on him. Katherine said that she’s always been a “serial monogamist” and can never see herself cheating — ever.

“I have no desire to physically hook up with any man other than my husband and have been a serial monogamist from the moment of my first serious relationship at 20,” Heigl writes. “I have never been able to connect with a man sexually without it becoming emotional, without giving a piece of my heart and soul to that connection.”

“[I] always loved the idea of Samantha on Sex and the City, but it just isn’t how I’m built.”

“I understand that every human being on earth wonders if the grass might be greener in other pastures, but I could never imagine myself really going there or really wanting to,” Heigl explains. “I guess the relationship I’m in is so consuming that the idea of a dalliance with another man sounds exhausting.”

“It’s hard enough to make one connection work,” she writes. “I can’t imagine, even for four days, splitting myself between two!”

“We’ve had some pretty explosive fights over the years trying to make our marriage work, but it’s been worth it,” Heigl adds. “I do not want to live my life without Josh in it and will do everything I can to make sure I don’t have to — except give him the freedom to don a costume and mask and bang some other chick.”

Katherine Heigl Talks Adoption, Organ Donation, And One For The Money

Katherine Heigl shared a lot in a new interview with Scholastic’s Parent & Child.  She talked about everything from adoption to donating her brother’s organs when they lost him at just 15 years old.

On the decision to adopt:

“Josh and I started talking about [adoption] before we were even engaged.  My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born. I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea.”

Did she worry that Josh might have reservations about adoption:

“Anyone who doesn’t have experience with adoption wonders, does love for a child come through DNA? I knew it didn’t. My mother had biological children and an adopted child and said it made absolutely no difference. They’re yours. You love them the moment they’re put into your arms. Josh had to learn that, but he was so gracious and accepting.

She and Josh are trying to raise Naleigh the same way they were brought up:

We both have families who believe in character, integrity, and morality. Not to be overindulged, to be respectful of parents. We feel strongly about these things, especially because of the industries we’re in. We’ll have to work a little bit harder to keep Naleigh grounded and to make sure she understands how blessed she is — how blessed we all are.

Not only does Katherine run a foundation in her late brother’s name to help animals, she also works with organ donation organizations:

Yes, with an organization called Donate Life. Organ donation is hard to talk about, and our family faced it under the worst circumstances. The accident left my brother with a brain injury, but everything else was working. So we were able to donate most of his organs.  There’s a grace in it, this ability to honor him this way. It helps a little to know that he lives on at some level, that people say his name every day now.

Katherine also dished on working with Debbie Reynolds in ‘One For the Money’

“At first it was intimidating because I admire her so much. But we had such a good time. She always had a cough drop in her mouth and in one scene, I started choking on roast beef. She made me take a cough drop, and it worked. She said, “Yeah, old people know a lot. We just want to pass it along before we die.” She is the kookiest, funniest, raunchiest chick you’ll ever meet”

You can read the rest of the interview here. It’s worth a peek!
