Jon Gosselin wasn’t pulling out the tissues during estranged wife Kate Gosselin’s tear-filled TLC interview Monday.

During her speech, Kate, 34, reflected on the end of their 10-year marriage, saying: “Whatever happened, it happened so quickly … Something had to give.”

On his Twitter page Tuesday, Jon, 32, suggested she wasn’t entirely honest.

“She claims she ‘didn’t remember’ who called it quits. Hey at least she said ‘didn’t remember’ instead of lieing [sic],” wrote Jon, who has spoken out numerous times that Kate pulled the plug on their marriage by refusing counseling.

He also said that Kate “even slipped last night” by admitting that “we split up a year ago!” (When the fifth season of the Gosselins’ TLC show premiered May 25, Kate said she didn’t know where their relationship was headed.)

Jon — who is now seeking spiritual guidance from high-profile Rabbi Shmuley Boteach — also Twittered that his life is returning to normal in Wernersville, Pa.

“Got up early this morning took Mady and Cara to the bus,” he wrote. “Came home to then hug my other six little morsels.”

The romance has long since died, but for Kate Gosselin, a kernel of the emotion still lives.

“A part of me always will [love Jon],” she says. “It’s hard to to be married to somebody for 10 years and try to say, ‘No, I don’t love them anymore.’ It doesn’t work really well. I love the memories that we have together.”

Sitting down with the Today show’s Natalie Morales for a special aired on TLC Monday night, Gosselin, 34, describes a bleak life after splitting with Jon, with her living in the center of a maelstrom of media attention.

Can’t Turn Life Off
“We can’t turn life off,” she says. “You’re viewing our lives; yes, you can turn it off. I can’t turn life off. In the last nine, 10 months, it’s gotten real crazy, and I can’t seem to get away from it. I just want peace for my kids.”

Responding to Morales’s argument that she could find peace simply by leaving the cameras behind, the onetime nurse said that her life has turned into a Catch-22 situation she can’t seem to escape, and that she has no alternative but to keep pursuing what has become the primary source of income for herself and her eight children.

“At this point, I can’t go back,” she says.

Later, she adds: “I signed up for a reality show, I didn’t sign up to be a tabloid staple. If I said I was done and it was enough, it would just be five more covers of why it is that I’m done, and so I would be living that for a period of time essentially with no income, with no job.”

Hopes for the Show to Go On
Kate says that she hopes she can continue filming either with the kids or on her own TLC show. As for allegations that she’s exploiting her kids and harming them by putting them in the spotlight, Kate was adamant that the critics are wrong.

“Coming from a mom who laid on bed rest from the time I found I was pregnant – from seven weeks pregnant to 30 weeks – and would not put anything in my mouth that would harm them, and fought for every second of their existence, I can tell you there is nothing that would ever force me to put them in harm’s way,” she says.

On Her Own
There’s little support from friends or family, who she says have been either driven away or corrupted by the media’s fascination with the family’s self-destruction. Ultimately, that included Jon, 32, as well.

“Whatever happened, it happened so quickly. I think I was on a plane coming back from somewhere and I remember thinking, ‘We’re not going to recover from this,’ ” she says. “I looked at him and he looked at me, and we were completely different people. I think somewhere down the line his goals changed … and they felt detrimental to me and the kids.”

Choking up, she adds: “I still wake up every day and I think the phone will ring and it’ll be … the old Jon.”

Wishing It Could Be Like Before
But Kate, who calls herself the “forgotten middle child” who now trusts “a very, very small group of people,” says she bears some of the responsibility for alienating her husband, especially when it came to her notoriously controlling manner as a wife and mom.

“I was wrong to treat him that way,” she says.

But the divorce has been hardest, naturally, on the kids. “They all to a degree say I wish mommy and daddy could be here at the same time, and to that I say, I do too,” Kate says.

TMZ has learned Jon Gosselin has been ordered to return $180,000 in marital funds, which were removed in violation of an arbitrator’s order.

According to Kate’s lawyer, Mark Momjian, “The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date.”

Jon is required to repay the loot by October 26 — the next hearing — or appear before the judge for a contempt proceeding.

The judge also ordered Kate to provide an accounting of past expenses — also due by Oct. 26.

Kate says, “As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues.”

When Jon Gosselin heard that his estranged wife, Kate, had a breakdown during the taping of a TV pilot in September, he knew he was responsible for her suffering. In addition to flaunting his relationship with his new girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, and partying at clubs all over the country surrounded by scantily clad women, Jon went on ABC’s Primetime recently and said he “despised” the mother of his eight children. “He woke up one morning, looked in the mirror and didn’t like the reflection,” Jon’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, tells In Touch. “He realized he’d made some bad choices.” Jon and Kate were due to be officially divorced by the end of November — but now he claims he’s had a serious change of heart. “I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated [on June 22],” Jon tells In Touch exclusively. “I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon.”

Shockingly, today, Jon submitted a document to a Pennsylvania court-approved arbitrator, which he hopes will suspend his split with Kate for 90 days. He explains, “This will enable Kate and me to restore our relationship as cooperative parents and to open up our lines of communication. I hope that she will be as receptive and enthusiastic as I am to do what is best for our family.” He also pleaded with her to set aside their anger so they can start interacting amicably. “I would like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting,” Jon tells In Touch. “Even though we were heading for a divorce, it appeared that Kate had been suffering from this divorce as much as I had. That’s why I asked my attorney to put the brakes on this divorce so I could try to regain control over the future of our family. So Kate and I could join on a cooperative course that would benefit our family — not destroy it.”

Jon claims he’s done sowing his wild oats and grown disenchanted with his playboy lifestyle. Jon believes that his womanizing was a result of being dumped by Kate, who told him it was over in October 2008 before filing for divorce. “When Kate broke up with me, I begged her to go with me to counseling,” he says. “She was totally against it. I think I was reacting to the pain I have been suffering as a result of Kate’s rejection of me.” Heller insists that Jon wants the document to be a sort of peace treaty: “He is hoping to inspire his wife to become less rigid, inflexible and controlling and open up. We’re hoping Jon and Kate can sit down together and start exploring what to do about their situation. Once they do that, the rest will fall into place.”

Jon is feeling remorseful over what he did to Kate, because TLC is dropping his ass! Just a few hours ago, TLC announced that they are dropping Jon from Jon and Kate Plus 8, and it will now be called Kate Plus 8. Would Jon care about working on his marriage – if TLC hadn’t announced they were 86′ing him? Grrr…this really pisses me off.

TLC has announced they are dropping Jon Gosselin from his reality show with wife Kate Gosselin. As of November 2, Jon will no longer appear on Jon and Kate Plus 8.

The name of the show will be changed to Kate Plus 8 and will only feature Kate and their 8 children.

The announcement comes 3 months after the couple filed for divorce and began filming their appearances on the show separately. Neither Jon nor Kate has commented on TLC’s announcement. No reason for the decision to axe Jon from the show was given.

Meanwhile, Kate has reportedly taped a pilot for a talk show with Food Network star Paula Deen. The show is reportedly centered around mothers and gives tips on a variety of topics.

Kate Gosselin has lent more weight to the rumor she’s heading to her own TV talk show.

Last week, reports surfaced that Telepictures was developing a morning show with Kate Gosselin, Southern foodie Paula Deen and several other women who have yet to be named, and the TLC star added fuel to the fire last week at a women’s conference.

“I’ve been given the gift of gab, so why not use it?” Gosselin said of possibly doing a talk show, while speaking to an audience at the Southern Women’s Show in Charlotte, N.C., The Charlotte Observer reported.

Gosselin seemed to make her first major move toward proving she has the chops and the mouth for a morning show by sitting in with the ladies of “The View” last week.

“It is sort of like a career move, so I had to do it,” the “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star said.

When contacted by Access Hollywood last week, a rep for Telepictures said they do not comment on “developmental activity.”

And while life as a single mom (she is currently divorcing Jon Gosselin) seems to be working out, Gosselin revealed the break up is still hard.

“I miss Jon,” Kate Gosselin told the Charlotte crowd. “The Jon that I used to know.”

Kate Gosselin isn’t stripping down for Playboy any time soon, she announced Friday during her third time cohosting The View this week.

A tabloid reported that Hugh Hefner offered the mother of eight $400,000 to bare all, but Kate said: “There’s a rumor that I was asked to pose for Playboy. It never happened!”

Kathy Griffin — who also appeared on The View Friday — joked that she’d pay the lad mag to let her pose nude dressed up as Kate.

“Why don’t we do a nude…lesbo thing?” Griffin asked Kate.

Her response?

“Oh, wow,” Kate said.

Kate also told Griffin she laughed at a video the comic filmed for Jimmy Kimmel Live. In the clip, Griffin dons a wig, screams at her kids and rolls her eyes as estranged husband Jon — played by Star Trek’s George Takei — makes out with a cheerleader.

“I watched it online and I didn’t know what to expect,” she said. “I caught myself cracking up out loud.

Kate — who was back to her wavy ‘do — also discussed tabloid reports that Jon slept with a former nanny, Stephanie Santoro, while his kids were home.

“Well, I guess it’s the article of the week and basically my only comment on that — just based on the behavior of the last several months — I’m not surprised,” Kate said. “Honestly, I don’t know. We were separated. It goes back to the recent police being called, blah blah blah.

“I need to say about this article, I’m not saying it’s true or false,” she went on. “All I’m talking about is what my intuition is saying. The background story is I had never met this babysitter.” (Us Weekly reported Jon and Santoro — who sold $2 shots at local bar Legends Lounge — had a sexy sleepover in early August.)

In August, cops were called to the the family’s $1.1-million Pennsylvania home after Kate showed up while Jon was supposed to have custody of their eight kids.

Kate explained: “I learned that he asked this babysitter to come over when he was not going to be home. It started out very friendly. I called him and said, ‘If you’re not going to be home, can I come?’”

Kate says her “alarms and whistles” were going off about Santoro. “I asked him kindly to use the approved babysitters we have,” she said.

Kate said she “sat at the gate and just sobbed.”

Joy Behar pointed out that Kate was “winning the PR award.”

Said Kate: I’m not out to win any awards. I’m just out to be the best mother I can possibly be.”
