John Mayer serves up quite a sight as he enjoys a game of tennis in Sydney. Clad in a 1980′s-inspired outfit, the singer/songwriter looked relaxed as he knocked some balls around Centennial Park. Mayer is currently on tour Down Under.

Jessica Simpson faced the ladies of The View this morning while promoting her new show The Price of Beauty, but there was a different hot topic the ladies wanted to focus on — John Mayer’s recent Playboy interview. As for being called his “sexual napalm,” Jessica said, “Well, he’ll never have this napalm again.”
“My phone has been ringing,” Jessica explained to the ladies of The View. “It’s more embarrassing because I’ll walk into a restaurant and I’ll notice that more men are looking at me and I feel like they’re undressing me.”

The embattled singer, who’s had a couple of self-created rough weeks lately, put a much less controversial side of himself on display during his concert in Philadelphia Sunday night.
While performing, John took notice of 11-year-old Austin Christy holding up a sign that read “Can I play ‘Belief’ with you?” reports CourierPostOnline.com. He graciously invited the sixth-grader up on stage, where the two jammed together for the crowd of roughly 25,000 fans, including Austin’s mom.
As if that weren’t enough, John even gave the kid an autographed guitar as a parting gift.
Jessica Simpson’s father reportedly blasted John Mayer in a furious phone call.
Joe Simpson is said to have lambasted the ‘Gravity’ singer over his recent comments to Playboy magazine – in which he described the singer-and-actress as “sexual napalm” – and warned him never to contact, or even speak about, the blonde star ever again.
A source said, “Joe took it upon himself to call John up directly for a ‘man to man’ discussion. Joe didn’t tell Jessica ahead of time because he knew she’d object. The conversation was pretty one-sided. Joe told John that he best not even think of uttering Jessica’s name again. John put up a feeble defense – he tried to reason with Joe that he was praising Jessica, not insulting her. But no father wants to hear from an ex-boyfriend about how hot his daughter is in bed – and Joe told John as much. Joe told John to stay away from his family and man-up and apologize for his comments.”
John – who dated Jessica for nine months until May 2007 – has reportedly attempted to make amends with his ex-girlfriend, but his efforts have so far been unable to win over her protective dad.
The source added: “John did email Jessica and tell her he was sorry if the interview offended her. But regardless of whether Jessica is willing to forgive and forget – Joe Simpson isn’t ready to make amends. He’s holding a massive grudge against John. But there’s no reasoning with Jessica’s dad. He didn’t like John when Jessica was dating him and likes him even less now.”

Last night, John Mayer couldn’t help but say what he needed to say.
The Grammy winner, whose Twitter page is at this moment largely occupied by a detailed apology for using the N-word during his already graphically informative sit-down for Playboy’s March issue, broke down Wednesday during the “Gravity” portion of his show in Nashville.
Near the end of the concert, he stopped playing, apologizing to his bandmates for the interruption.
“I quit the media game. I’m out. I’m done,” a choked-up Mayer told the audience at the Sommet Center, an eyewitness tells E! News. “I just want to play my guitar.”
Then, after a lengthy pause, he returned to his guitar solo.
His onstage sentiment resembled his last tweet from the day: “I just wanted to play the guitar for people. Everything else just sort of popped up and I improvised, and kept doubling down on it…”
As he had just reminded Twitter user “adilla”: “They don’t make rehab centers for being an a-hole.”

“it’s been difficult because in my quest to be clever… in the quest to be clever and try to slither out of what i perceived to be constant persecution or somebody trying to pin me, which may or may not ever really be happening, but i think that it is a lot of the time when it’s actually not. in the quest to be clever, i completely forgot about the people that i love and that love me. and as i have begun to (???) a whirlpool of selfishness, and greediness and arrogance…and thinking if i just continue to be speedy and witty and pull together as many fast words and phrases as i could, that i would be clever enough to buy myself another day without anybody pinning me down and saying ‘you’re a creep’. and when i should have just given that up and played the guitar… so i decided i would try to be as clever as possible all the time. and i did that at the expense of people that i love and that feels absolutely terrible. it feels worse than any headline i thought i could get my way out of. and i think it’s important that you know that everybody on this stage is here playing with me not because they condone what i say in any interview… they are not on this stage because they support what i said, they’re on this stage because they support myself as a possible future grown-up. and maybe they see something that i don’t… so maybe i need to take a break from trying to be clever and spend a little time looking at what they see. cause they’ve done an unbelievable thing standing on this stage and standing by my side tonight. it’s just not worth being clever…. i’m out …. just wanna play my guitar … ”
John Mayer is kissing and telling — again.
UsMagazine.com has an exclusive peek at Playboy’s March issue, where the singer, 32, dishes on everything from his past relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston to his dream mate.
He dubs 29-year-old Simpson (whom he dated from 2006 to 2007) “a drug.”
“And drugs aren’t good for you if you do lots of them,” he says, adding, “Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me.”
“Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say,” he continues. “It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, ‘I want to quit my life and just f*****’ snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f*** you, I would start selling all my s*** just to keep f****** you.’”
He didn’t share bedroom details about Aniston, who turns 41 Thursday.
But he denied reports that he penned the tune “Heartbreak Warrior” about her. “That woman would never use heartbreak warfare,” he tells Playboy. “That woman was the most communicative, sweetest, kindest person.”
He also denied that Twitter obsession led to their split last year.
“There was a rumor that I’d been dumped because I was tweeting too much,” he says. “That wasn’t it, but that was a big difference. The brunt of her success came before TMZ and Twitter. I think she’s still hoping it goes back to 1998. She saw my involvement in technology as courting distraction. And I always said, ‘These are the new rules.’”
Oh, and how many women has he bedded since their break-up?
“I’m going to say four or five. No more,” he tells Playboy. “But even if I said 12, that’s a reasonable number. So is 15. Here’s the thing: I get less a** now than I did when I was in a local band. Because now I don’t like jumping through hoops.”
These days, he says he is hesitant to settle down.
“I hate being the heartbreaker. Hate it,” he says. “If I date somebody and it doesn’t work out, it’s another nightmare for me.”
Of course, any interview with Mayer would not be complete without an Us Weekly reference.
Asked about his future, he says, “From now on I’m just going to pretend that people really dig the s*** out of me. I’ve been trying to prove to people I’m not a douche bag by not dating, by keeping my name out of Us Weekly. That’s f***** up, man. I’m not dating. I’m not even f******. So now I’m going to experiment with ‘f*** you.’ In 2010 my goal is to get more mentions in Us Weekly than ever.”
John Mayer is known for dating beautiful women — and clearly doesn’t discriminate on their ages. The 32-year-old rocker, who was previously involved with 40-year-old Jennifer Aniston, is now rumored to be dating Taylor Swift, 20.
“Taylor and John are absolutely more than ‘just friends,’” a source tells Hollywoodlife.com.
“They aren’t ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ or anything as provincial as that, but they have taken their friendship to the next level,” the source adds.
