Newly single Jessica Simpson was hanging with her godson Dylan when he accidentally decked her with one of her Christian Louboutin shoes.

On her Twitter page Friday, she posted a photo, along with the caption: “My godson Dylan giving me a hug after hitting me in the back with my louboutin leopard wedges.”

The hug left Simpson feeling reflective.

Shortly after the Tweet, she posted, “Everything is as simple as it should be…”

Jessica Simpson is “bummed” about her split from quarterback Tony Romo, but “it’s the best thing for her,” according to a source close to the singer.

“[Tony] wanted her to be a house mom and be in Dallas, and he wants to go out and play – and not just football,” says the source.

Additionally, the source says Simpson and Romo’s relationship started to deteriorate toward the end of their time together. “It’s been tough for her. Tony had his eyes on everyone but her towards the end,” the source tells People. “But let’s not forget they lasted for a long time and he stuck with her even though the fans didn’t like her.”

Although Romo has been linked to another woman – Natalie Smith – in reports, Smith’s father John, the associate athletic director at Eastern Illinois University, has denied rumors that the pair are an item.

Reps for Romo did not return calls for comment.

In Love with Love
For Simpson, the breakup has meant letting go of her hopes for a future with the handsome football star. “I think when Jessica gets into a relationship, she thinks she is going to marry him and have babies,” the source says. “Every time she ends up with a boy, she is in the zone that it’s leading to marriage and babies. That’s how she’s programmed.”

And these feelings were not exclusive to Romo, says the source. “I guarantee when she was with John [Mayer] she thought she was going to marry John,” adds the source. “She’s in love with love.”

Another factor that makes relationships more tricky for Simpson is her family, says the source. “The closeness of her and her family – that takes a toll on the boys,” says source. “They are extremely close and when you date her, you date her family.”

For now the singer is hunkering down with her parents at their home in Encino. Calif., but the source says: “She will come back stronger. She’s working out and she’s focusing on herself.”

No more short pants romance for jilted Jessica!

Jessica Simpson is now swearing off men for six months after QB Tony Romo sent her to the showers, sources say.

Since her marriage to Nick Lachey collapsed in 2005, Jessica has gone from one dead-end relationship to another.

“She needs time to clear her head, so she’s putting dating on the back burner,” said a source close to Jessica.

Before she hooked up with the Dallas Cowboys hunk in late 2007, Jessica romanced a conga line of “love ‘em and leave ‘em” types, including comic Dane Cook, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, rock singer Adam Levine, actor Jared Leto and emo-rocker John Mayer.

Now the usually boy-crazy beauty plans to focus on “inner growth,” said the source.

“Jess knows she’s overly needy and tends to define herself by the men she’s with,” explained the source.

“Jessica wants to figure out what she does to repel men and fix it,” said the source.

“For the time being, she’s refusing to be set up, she doesn’t want to date, and she’s definitely avoiding meaningless hookups.”

Kenny Chesney is blasting a tabloid report that he and Jessica Simpson flirted in front of Tony Romo at a July 4 party just days before the couple’s breakup.

“Tony’s a friend, and I wouldn’t flirt with a buddy’s girlfriend,” Chesney tells People. “More importantly, Jessica was just being sweet and there was nothing else to it. It’s not funny. There were no problems. Everybody got along great. After the party, everybody went their own way and nobody thought anything more about it. Period. End of story.”

The party was thrown by Chesney’s friend, Sean Payton, coach of pro football’s New Orleans Saints, Chesney says.

“If a girl and her boyfriend can’t go to someone’s house for a Fourth of July party and talk to the other guests without it turning into a big nightmare … , then I feel really sorry for Jessica and Tony, who’re both really nice people,” Chesney says. “I wonder if I wasn’t famous if anyone would even care. But the fact of the matter is I talked to a bunch of guests, hung out, had a good time.”

Simpson and Romo, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, split five days later on July 9 – the night before Simpson’s 29th birthday.

Production on Jessica Simpson’s reality show is up in the air after her split from Tony Romo, the new issue of Us Weekly reports.

“The plan was to shoot most of it around Tony’s football schedule so she could support him through the season,” a show staffer on The Price of Beauty — which chronicles Simpson’s worldwide search for true beauty — tells Us.

“Now they’re busy redoing the whole shooting schedule,” continues the source. (It’s still set to premiere on VH1 March 2010.)

The new issue of Us also reports Romo had been sending “flirty texts” to a younger, skinner Simpson look-alike, Natalie Smith, while still dating the singer. He even introduced Smith to Simpson at one of her February concerts.

“We hung out for, like 10 to 15 minutes, backstage,” Smith tells Us. “She was cool and nice.”

A Smith source tells Us Romo, 29, and Smith, 22, “are not officially dating, but they are having an intimate relationship.”

Romo dumped Simpson on July 9, the eve of her 29th birthday.

Now, a sign hangs in the security booth of his Dallas gated community that reads: “RED ALERT!!! TONY ROMO HAS MADE SOME CHANGES TO HIS LIST OF PEOPLE ALLOWED IN….JESSICA IS NO LONGER ON THE LIST AND NOT APPROVED FOR ACCESS.”

Simpson spent $19,000 to ship 37 boxes of her belongings overnight to Los Angeles on July 15.

Jessica Simpson has put her foot in her mouth again.

This time, the 29-year-old singer – who famously confused tuna with chicken because the label said “Chicken of the Sea” – has outraged some in the Native American community for using a racial stereotype.

Earlier this week, TMZ.com asked Simpson if she would be taking back the expensive boat she bought for ex Tony Romo. Her reply? “I’m not an Indian giver.”

“I am shocked she said that. I didn’t know people still said that,” one person wrote on the website, theforumsite. “She will be apologizing … there is outrage.”

Added another TMZ.com commenter: “I’m a Native American and I cringed when I heard Jessica Simpson comment about us Native Americans. Am I mad!?! I should be, but look at who the comment is coming from.”

A third chimed in: “As a Native American, in particular a Dakota, I find those comments quite sad and stereotypical. But not surprising, if you look who said them.”

First, Nick Lachey told People there was very little truth to reports he might get back together with his newly single ex-wife, Jessica Simpson.

Now comes bad news for fans hoping Simpson’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer will heal her broken heart.

“Absolutely not,” Mayer’s pal Rob Dyrdek, 35, star of MTV’s Fantasy Factory, told People Monday at Ryan Scheckler’s X Games Celebrity Skins Classic” in Coto De Caza, Calif.

Mayer and Simpson dated on-and-off for about a year before splitting in 2007. Dyrdek says he “wouldn’t rule out” a reunion, but adds, “I’m just saying [I don't think so].”

Earlier this month, Mayer found himself in the middle of Simpson’s breakup with her boyfriend of a year and a half, Tony Romo, when reports surfaced that he had been texting the pop star, 29. In May, a source told People the exes “have been in touch.”

Mayer observers may remember Dyrdek, a pro skateboarder, as the apparently drunk friend the singer carried out of L.A. club MyHouse June 14. Mayer Tweeted later that night that he was with Dyrdek at the hospital as he had his stomach pumped.

It was a prank.

“He’s one of the most incredible people I have ever met and a thoroughbred genius,” Dyrdek says of Mayer. “He just likes to [mess] with the paparazzi. He’s like, ‘I want to do so much more crazy [stuff],’ and he settled on carrying me out of the club.”

The faux-scandal will be part of Fantasy Factory. “I did a whole episode on what it’s like to have a psychotically famous [friend],” Dyrdek says. “Just the whole idea of how out of control it got. To where my parents’ local news was like, ‘Local celebrity almost dies.’ ”

The practical jokers later devised a creative way to tell Dyrdek’s mother they were sorry. “We recorded a song called ‘Rob’s Mom’ that apologizes to her and all of the girls in the office.”
