Jerry O’Connell Would “Not Allow” A Male Nanny In His House

Rebecca Romijn at Jessica Paster and JustFabulous celebrattion in West Hollywood

Jerry O’Connell is guest starring on Mistresses this season, a show that nobody watches or cares about. In any case, O’Connell plays a manny who falls in love with his psychotherapist boss. To promote the show, US Magazine asked O’Connell if he would ever hired a male nanny for his two daughters with wife Rebecca Romijn, twins Dolly and Charlie, 7 and a half, and he said HECK NO:

“I’m not sure if given the chance to hire myself as a manny in my family, I don’t think I would allow that to happen,” the Crossing Jordan alum said. “I’m sorry if that’s closed-minded of me. I just wouldn’t allow that — I wouldn’t be comfortable with that. I would explain to my wife and to my children that I was not comfortable with a manny around.”

O’Connell points out that it was an odd feeling to be the only cast member who had experience caring for children.

“It is pretty shocking to me that I’m the only one who has kids on this cast, so literally everyone thought I was like Dr. [Benjamin] Spock,” the Stand by Me actor said. “Everyone thought I was a baby expert.”

“It’s funny — when you’re a parent, and you have kids, when you see a crying baby, you just go to it,” he continued. “You just do. I’m shocked I’m that person as well because before I had kids, I didn’t really care for them. [But] especially these little babies in showbiz, they are cute little babies. You can’t help! Feeding the baby again, it really made me want to have another one.”

Okay, out of context what he said sounds pretty sexist, but relating it to his role/the context where he’s a nanny who seduces his boss, okay, I guess I get where he’s coming from. That being said he probably knew this quote was gonna go out of context, so maybe he should’ve thought a bit more before discounting a whole gender as decent caregivers….

What do YOU think about his statement? Weigh in below!

Jerry O’Connell’s mother will chase you down if you call him fat

Jerry O'Connell's mother will chase you down if you call him fat

Jerry O’Connell looks every bit the slender fella now, but that wasn’t always the case. As a young kid, he starred in the 1986 movie “Stand By Me” as Vern Tessio. He was the chubby kid from the hit movie, but don’t let his mother hear us say that!

Page Six reports:

Hunky actor Jerry O’Connell says fans are fixated on his portly childhood.

“Jerry was talking about how people still call out — ‘Hey, you’re the fat kid from ‘Stand by Me,’ ” said a spy at the Slipper Room when O’Connell went onstage with comic Seth Herzog during a stand-up routine.

The actor added that if he’s with his mother, “she’ll chase down strangers to come to his defense and be like, ‘Sir, my son isn’t fat!’”

I highly doubt people are really making fun of Jerry these days. What do you think?

Giuliana Rancic Slams Ex Jerry O’Connell

Giuliana Rancic Out and About in London

Giuliana Rancic might be known to scrutinize fashion- but in her new book, she’s extending her criticism to ex Jerry O’Connell!

In her new book, “Going Off Script,” Rancic skeweres “Sliders” actor Jerry O’Connell, whom she compares to Jekyll and Hyde. Apparently, the two met at the W Hotel in San Diego and struck up a passionate, devoted love affair until he cheated on Rancic with Spice Girl Geri Halliwell!

“I was being two-timed for one of the lesser Spices?” she writes. Confronted, O’Connell told her, “ ‘Yeah, I know. I’m so sorry. I don’t know what happened.’ He had as much emotion as the customer-service representative who tells you your bags missed the flight.”

Apparently, O’Connell wooed her back and the two discussed plans for marriage until the Maxim’s 100 Hottest Women party in 2004 (Rancic was No. 94), where “X-Men” actress Rebecca Romijn (No. 7), was also partyin.’

O’Connell wandered off. “Little did I know he was in the VIP area, talking up Rebecca. As a prelude to feeling up Rebecca.”

A week later, he left for Las Vegas and stopped returning her calls. When she confronted him at his home, he refused to buzz her up.

“Nope. Sorry, homegirl,” he said, ending their relationship with: “Things change, but you take care, OK?”

COLD.  Now I know NOT to date Jerry O’Connell.  Rancic’s book “Going Off Script: How I Survived a Crazy Childhood, Cancer, and Clooney’s 32 On-Screen Rejections,” comes out this week, and was written before all the stuff went down with her weight and with “Fashion Police.” Seems juicy…will you check it out?

Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn share their Christmas card!

BblGcTZCIAA1Zce.jpg large

Jerry O’Connell and wife Rebecca Romijn are certainly in the holiday spirit! The couple shared their family Christmas car, including five of their furry family members!

“Happy Holidays from all nine of us!!” Romijn, 40, wrote alongside a Twitter pic of her big family, all of whom – from the couple’s twin girls Dolly and Charlie to their three dogs and two cats – were clad in bright green Christmas pajamas decorated with snowmen and pine trees.

Romijn and O’Connell, 39, have much to celebrate this holiday season, as their daughters turn five on December 28, which will likely prompt the twins’ first-ever birthday party now that they’re getting older.

“We can’t even get them to open presents on their birthday,” Romijn jokingly told PEOPLE this fall. “They’re like, ‘We’re still sick of presents from Christmas.’ “

I haven’t seen their twins in years, they’re adorable!! And growing up so fast!
