Ok, this is my LAST post on the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday. There were just too many beautiful celebs to put it all in one post! Here are the last of the pictures from the event, which honored Clint Eastwood.
PICTURED: Kate Bosworth and boyfriend Michael Polish, Amy Poehler, Elisabeth Moss, Jon Hamm, Ryan Kwanten, Nick and Joe Jonas, Kate Beckinsale and husband Len Wiseman, Amy Adams, Rashida Jones, James Van Der Beek, Leonardo DiCaprio, Zac Efron, Rachel Zoe, Uma Thurman, Olivia Wilde and Julie Bowen.
James Van Der Beek and his wife Kimberly Brook (not pictured) take their adorable 5-month-old daughter Olivia to the annual John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit in West Hollywood, CA.
James recently opened up about Olivia’s birth. “It’s not easy to watch the person you love go through that. At one point in the middle, I had to excuse myself and secretly take 20 seconds in the bathroom to break down, wipe my eyes, beat my chest and man up for her.” He added, “There’s a reason they don’t let men give birth.”
The couple wed on August 1, 2010, in a small Jewish ceremony at the Kabbalah Center near Dizengoff Plaza in Tel Aviv, Israel. Olivia was born a few weeks later on September 25.
James Van Der Beek, star of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ will be returning to TV, according to TVLine. The actor has been cast in ‘Don’t Trust the B*tch’. He’ll play the best friend of the show’s star Chloe, played by Krysten Ritter. Get this – he’ll be playing himself! He’ll be playing a satirical version of his 90′s Dawsons character!
This will mark his first return to TV since the WB show ended. He’s starred in several films, including ‘Varsity Blues’ and ‘American Psycho’.
I loooved ‘Dawson’s Creek‘. Makes me feel old – but many of you probably never even watched the show. It aired from ’98-’03, and Jamie boy hasn’t done a whole lot since. Sure there was ‘Varsity Blues‘ (the soundtrack was better than the movie) and ‘The Rules of Attraction‘ (never saw it) but he’ll mostly be known for Dawson’s – the same show that shotKatie Holmes to stardom.
If you haven’t seen the show – chances are you have seen his very famous gif image on message boards like ONTD.
Nice to see James has a good sense of humor about it, because he’s created a website and now you can download your very own James Van Der Memes!
When it came time to choose their daughter Olivia‘s name, James Van Der Beek‘s wife Kimberly says she left it all up to him. “I gave him full naming power,” she laughs. “But she did throw that one in my lap,” the actor notes. “We wanted her to come out and then see what her name would be.”
The couple welcomed their baby girl on Sept. 25 and the former Dawson’s Creek star tells PEOPLE he picked the name because, “she looked like an Olivia.” In addition, “there’s an olive tree in Israel that’s special to us,” he explains. Adds Kimberly, “We spent time under it when we first met in Israel, then we went back to this tree when I was pregnant.”
When it comes to divvying up duties for their 3-month-old daughter — who has Mom’s hair and Dad’s eyes — James is an expert swinger but admits his wife is “a much better breastfeeder than I am.”
And he’s found solace in the “best advice” he’s received thus far — that babies don’t break as easily as you think. “That helps me to be a lot less nervous,” he notes. “I am calmer and then the baby picks up on the energy.”
