Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin are on the hunt for a tutor for their children, Apple, 7 and Moses, 5. Thing is – they are very, very particular in what they’re looking for.
According to The Sun, the famous couple have placed an ad for a private tutor, and they know exactly what they want. The new tutor must essentially be, smart, athletic, musically gifted, multilingual, willing to travel the world and work two to four hours a day.
A friend of the couple told The Sun, “They’re looking for someone with amazing qualifications – fluent in languages, able to play two instruments and sporty. It’s likely the tutor will be Oxbridge-educated.”
Both Paltrow and her Coldplay frontman husband are intelligent and talented individuals themselves, it’s no wonder they’d want that for their offspring as well.
The job will require working from their home in Belsize Park, North London, with the ability to travel with the couple and the kids both near and far. The insider that spoke to The Sun added, “They want someone to go with them wherever they need them, be that America or anywhere else. But with that kind of deal for teaching two hours a day – you would, wouldn’t you?”
These expenses will of course be paid for, and will not come out of the £60,000 ($98,000) salary being offered. As for some of the other perks included, how about use of the couples’ West London flat? Not too shabby at all.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s talks for a record deal with Atlantic Records have crumbled, the New York Post reported Monday, citing sources.
In March, the “Country Strong” star was reportedly close to a deal with the label to record a country album.
But a source said, “Atlantic bosses were very interested, and [Atlantic owner] Warner chief Lyor Cohen was very supportive. But then the talks halted and the deal fizzled out. There was a rumor that Paltrow wanted $1 million to sign, but that is a ridiculous figure. Atlantic is still interested in signing her.”
It is believed the Oscar winner was distracted by other opportunities in her busy career, including possible movie roles and her new cookbook.
There are also rumors she might turn up for a few surprise appearances on this summer’s “Glee” tour.
Paltrow’s rep said, “Atlantic was not the only company pursuing her, and she still has not decided if she wants to record an album,” adding, it “is still something she is considering.”
Paltrow, 38, is married to Chris Martin, lead singer of the band Coldplay.

“Don’t know how that rumor got into the papers,” she says of the magazine project. “It could not be further from the truth. I literally do not have time to bathe let alone start a magazine.”
On learning how to cook healthy, in the hopes of curing his cancer:
“Of course I couldn’t cure him, but I found that my body felt really good.”
On cooking healthy foods that her children would enjoy:
“Could I use some butter and cheese and eggs in my cooking without going down some kind of hippie shame spiral?” she writes. “Yes, I could.”
In Gwyneth’s new cookbook, there’s a story behind each recipe:
“It’s how I think as a cook,” she says while slicing grilled chicken breasts on the bias, just like a catering chef. “I wouldn’t say I’m a very original thinker, but if I have a good experience with something, I’ll want to take it further or adapt it in some way. I’m not going to be doing molecular gastronomy; I’m a wife and a mom and a home cook.”
No surprise that Gwyneth Paltrow opted for a off-white Stella McCartney dress for last night’s MET Gala. Gwyneth and Stella have been friends for years. I love this dress, I think Gwyneth looks stunning! If I had those legs, I’d wear a slit like that too!
Chelsea Handler and Gwyneth Paltrow sat down for an interview on ‘Chelsea Lately’ last night. They found they have a lot in common. They’re both half-German. They both had grandmothers they called Mutti. And they both threw their grandmothers under the bus last night. Handler explained that her Mutti “was a real b—-,” but Paltrow raised the stakes, saying “My Mutti was a real c—.”
Gwyneth explained her grandmother “hated my guts.” She said she “tried to poison my mother against me, but it didn’t work because I have a great mother … She must not have been very happy and she must have had a lot of pain because she was mean as hell.”
She also explained that her mom, Blythe Danner, goes by Lalo, and not Grandma. Blythe didn’t want to be called Grandma – and instructed her granchildren to call her Woof. When Woof didn’t stick, Gwyneth’s daughter Apple came up with the name Lalo.

Coach Inc. confirmed that Paltrow will also serve as a brand ambassador for the international campaign to mark its 70th anniversary this fall and next spring.
Shot by Peter Lindbergh on a Manhattan rooftop, the print, digital and outdoor ads will only be used for select markets in Asia and Europe, including France, Spain, the U.K., Portugal and China.
“I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand,” Paltrow said. “I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag.”
The images will break in international September books. Coach’s president and executive creative director Reed Krakoff called Paltrow, who in the past played model for Tod’s and Christian Dior, “a natural choice.…She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand,” he said.
