Evan Rachel Wood has upped her performance game since covering Justin Bieber in a Chinese karaoke bar — because last week, she sang for an A-list crowd including George Clooney!
The 23-year-old actress took the mic at the after-party for “The Ides of March” premiere at the Venice Film Festival last Wednesday, where she performed the classic 4 Non Blondes hit “What’s Up?” for a crowd including co-star Clooney and actress Robin Wright.
Wood, who sang in the film “Across the Universe” and once covered Bieber’s “Baby”, absolutely killed it … all while wearing a gorgeous Alessandra Rich gown.
After watching the video on TooFab, 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry says Evan did “Pretty damn good.”

Look at all the beautiful people! Marisa Tomei is wearing a Preen Fall 2011 ensemble. Evan Rachel Wood wore a suit by Dolce & Gabbana.
I’d like to know where costar Ryan Gosling is, however. He has a lead in the political drama… NY Times also noticed Ryan’s absense, and dug a little deeper!
Ryan Gosling raised eyebrows at the Venice Film Festival yesterday with his conspicuous absence from the premiere of “The Ides of March.” Gosling doesn’t just star in the film, as a press secretary seduced by Washington’s dark side, he’s directed by George Clooney (who plays the candidate.) Given Clooney’s status in Hollywood, one insider noted that Gosling’s failure to show was a “big deal,” especially since co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei made it to the red carpet.
Gosling’s work in the period crime flick “The Gangster Squad” has been reported as the reason he didn’t attend, and his rep explained to us that although shooting doesn’t begin until Sept. 6, Gosling has be in rehearsals “every day.” As for how Clooney felt about not having his leading man at the premiere, his rep did not respond by our deadline.

We’re getting our first look at ‘Ides of March’ this morning, the new movie starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling. The political movie will make it’s debut at the Venice Film Festival next year. Here’s more!
Using imagery from the 2008 election, in which Barack Obama raised, however briefly, the spirits and hopes of a nation, this George Clooney joint — it was adapted into screenplay, directed by and starring the already-outspoken star and advocate — explores the juxtaposing constants of public inspiration and private flaws in politics.
Clooney stars as a Presidential candidate with seemingly all the momentum, and Ryan Gosling his “up-and-coming” press secretary who, per the official synopsis, “finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens to upend his candidate’s shot at the presidency.”
Speaking to USA Today, Clooney said that he had to wait a few years to produce the film, waiting for inevitable cynicism to creep back in after the elation following President Obama’s election. The noted liberal made it about Democrats to, in part, avoid accusations of bias, though it doesn’t quite stick to party lines.
“Of course it’s political; it takes place during a primary,” he told the paper. “But it’s more about process than platform.”
He also noted that, ‘Republicans hate the beginning of the movie, the Democrats hate the end. So we’re good.”
The film, which co-stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, is set to open the Venice Film Festival on August 31st.

Hunky actor George Clooney is known for his debonair characters, but it’s his pranking ability that made a name for him on and off movie sets. Recently, he reportedly pulled stunt on fellow Ides of March co-star Ryan Gosling while the two were having a serious conversation. After Ryan walked away, he realized his pants were wet, and didn’t understand how, or when, that could have happened. Later he found out that while the pair were chit-chatting, George was slyly spraying his crotch with water. Nice.
I’m pretty sure I would notice dampness occurring i my nether region, but maybe Ryan was just having an off day.

I’m afraid Elisabetta put the nail in this coffin herself when just a couple weeks ago she announced “I will be married”. She told US Weekly, “I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am.”
Did she not know who she was dating? George is Hollywood’s biggest bachelor who has famously admitted he’ll never marry.
Maybe her admission to Us Weekly caused the rift between she and George, or maybe she was sending him a message? Maybe it was her way of saying – marry me, or else I’m outta here!
People has confirmed the couple have, indeed split:
George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis have ended their two-year relationship.
“We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy,” Clooney and Canalis said in a joint statement Wednesday.
Georgie’s back on the market!
