Eddie Redmayne Is A DAD!

The 2014 Toronto International Film Festival - 'The Theory Of Everything' Premiere

Now they have it all!

Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Redmayne welcomed their first child on Wednesday: a daughter named Iris Mary Redmayne.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them actor, 34, and Hannah broke the news in U.K. newspaper The Times, citing the gender and birthday of their lil bundle of Joy.

Redmayne and his wife decided to keep the baby’s gender a surprise, just for FUN. And hey, I’m sure they’d be thrilled either way- and they told so much to People magazine:

“I’m excited,” he said at the time of being a first-time father. “But I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. We just bought our first baby book. So there’s the first step. We’re waiting to find out [the sex]. We want to be surprised. It will be a big surprise either way! I figure part of it I’ll get from the book and part will be just instinct.”

Congrats, Redmaynes!

Eddie Redmayne Has Some Big Post-Oscar Plans

Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Grants Banquet

Eddie Redmayne is TOTALLY CHILL, YO.

Already confessing he’s a big fan of reality TV,  The Theory of Everything star and Best Actor Oscar nominee doesn’t need a big party to get down, or flashy things to be happy. In fact, the star says that after all of the red carpet Oscar hoopla, he’s planning on doing something most of us do to unwind…hang with his new wife Hannah Bagshawe and a “really trashy” book!

Eddie, you’re great.

“When you’re an actor, there’s always something you have to read for work, so you always have to either be reading a script or researching a script,” the British actor tells PEOPLE before taking home the Cinema Vanguard award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival on Thursday, alongside costar Felicity Jones. “That moment where you get to choose a book that you want to read just for pleasure is that rare thing,” he adds.

But when he’s working, the actor totally gives it his all!

“I’m someone who gets caught up in the banalities and anxieties of the every day,” he says. “But I’m just remembering, we only have one shot at this, being on this planet,” he says. “[The movie] encouraged me to make sure you live your life passionately.”

(viap People)

Definitely, dude. In fact, I’m going to take a page out of the Redmayne book of living life and dig into a trashy novel right now. I’m so HOLLYWOOD.

Eddie Redmayne Talks Stephen Hawking

'A Streetcar Named Desire' Opening Night

My boyfriend, the darling Les Miserables star Eddie Redmayne, will be playing the role of Stephen Hawking in the upcoming film The Theory of Everything.   Hawking was a famous theoretical physicist who suffered from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  The film is about Hawking’s relationship with his first wife, Jane who will be played by actress Felicity Jones.

Redmayne speaks with Entertainment Weekly about the challenges of playing a role:

“The real problem with making a film is of course you don’t shoot chronologically,” says the actor.  “So it was about having to really try and chart his physical deterioration [so] you can jump into it day-to-day, whilst at the same time keeping this spark and wit and humor that he has.”

Redmayne was able to meet with Hawking while he was preparing for the role and noted, “even now, when he’s unable to move, you can still see such effervescence in his eyes.”

When Hawking first received his diagnosis at age 21, he was told he would be dead in two years.  He went on to have three children with Jane and is currently 72 years old.  He also went on to divorce Jane after falling in love and subsequently marrying a nurse of his.  The marriage did not last- however I don’t think the Hollywood version of his life will get into that nitty gritty detail…

The film will be released in theaters in November.
