Things are about to get “Complicated” for Avril Lavigne and hubby Deryck Whibley. Sources close to the couple, who have been married since 2006, say they’re headed for Splitsville.

That seemed apparent when the Canadian songstress was out and about in Southampton last weekend – sans hubby and looking anything but married.

“She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself,” says a source close to the “Sk8er Boi” singer.

A spy at celebrity eatery Georgica indeed saw Lavigne getting away – but hardly spending any time alone. Instead, says the onlooker, she was partying hard and hanging with a number of male admirers. Only later in the evening did Lavigne get paranoid about what the nearby paparazzi may have captured on film. “She kept running up to the photographers and asking to see the pictures they took,” says one partygoer.

Lavigne continued her Saturday night at another Hamptons hot spot, Axe Lounge, where she danced the night – and perhaps her rocky marriage – away.

Trouble has been brewing since early this year for Lavigne and Whibley, who haven’t been photographed together since last December – and things have gotten significantly colder between the two since the summer heated up. Whibley attended the L.A. premiere of “Transformers” solo on June 22, while his missus jetted off to Saint-Tropez for a week with her girlfriends. One vacationer at the celeb-studded Riviera getaway spilled that she was definitely enjoying the paradise and pina coladas, perhaps a little bit too much.

So what does this mean for Lavigne’s upcoming album, which her Sum 41 husband was supposed to be helping her with?

Industry insiders say that although the two have already worked together on a few tracks for the CD, due out Nov. 17, Lavigne will be going ahead with it solo – just like her weekend in the Hamptons.

Reps for both Lavigne and Whibley didn’t respond to calls for comment.

Rumors that Avril Lavigne and her rocker husband, Deryck Whibley, were on the verge of a split have been derailed by the songstress herself.

After a nearly three-month tour in Asia, Avril, 24, is finally relaxing at home with 28-year-old Deryck — and she couldn’t be more content. “We’re best friends. We have so much in common and get along all of the time. He makes me happy,” Avril tells In Touch.

Friends of the couple add, “While she was on tour, Deryck joined her for two months. He performed on stage with her every night and they sang her hit song ‘In Too Deep’ for an encore together.” The couple hasn’t left their Hollywood home since returning from Asia. “They’re hanging out together and having fun,” says a source. “And they’re also recording songs in their home studio.”

“We have fun together,” Avril says.

Avril Lavigne and her rocker husband Deryck Whibley are on the verge of a split, according to new tabloid reports.

According to the National Enquirer the pair – who wed in 2006 – has been troubled since Lavigne embarked on her world tour earlier this year (08), often leaving the couple thousands of miles apart.

A source tells the magazine Lavigne and Whibley “have been growing apart for months”, adding, “Deryck isn’t motivated in his own career, so he’s been drinking and partying.”

Rumours of their split were fuelled when Whibley was reportedly seen at an event on Thursday (02Oct08) at a Los Angeles nightclub “huddled at a private table” and holding the hand of an unknown woman.
