At 44, Demi Moore has three teenage daughters, a much-younger husband and a thriving comeback career – so you’d think she has her hands full. But she wants more kids.
“Most definitely,” she tells Vanity Fair when asked whether she wants children with Ashton Kutcher, 28.
Moore, who has three daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis – Rumer, 18, Scout, 15, and Tallulah, 12 – adds, “Once you hit three, where you’re outnumbered, it’s really like, ‘What’s the difference between (three or) four or five?’ For me, the most important thing that I’ve contributed is my children.”
Of course, being a mom to teens can be a handful, especially when your oldest daughter starts hanging out with Lindsay Lohan.
“I’m definitely a bit overprotective, maybe because I have girls,” Moore says. “When they go out, I have them check in continually the entire night. … The fact that they are happy to check in and let me know how they are and where they are, that they don’t see it as a drag, is a real gift.”
Moore says Kutcher, whom she wed in September 2005, is a partner in parenting, despite their age difference. “At the risk of sounding really cliché, he’s really an old soul.”
Of their romance, she says, “I think it caught us both by surprise. … If somebody would have said, ‘OK, here is the prediction: You’re going to meet a man 25 years old and he’s going to see being with you and having your three kids as a bonus,’ I would have said, ‘Keep dreaming.’ ”
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Moore, who has two films, Mr. Brooks and Flawless, due this year, still has the body of a very fit 25-year-old.
“Here’s the amazing thing,” she says. “When I stepped away (from Hollywood), which was on the heels of G.I. Jane, I’d been on a long physical run of absolutely manipulating and forcing my body. … I thought, I just have to stop. I actually stopped exercising and started to eat in a way that was very reasonable. And the amazing thing is, my body transformed closer to what I always hoped for.”
Another thing she learned during her time off: “Being thin does not equate to happiness.”

Ashton, who has a close relationship with the actor, admits he loves picking Bruce’s brains about movies.
He said: “He was spending a long weekend with us and I asked him something that had been bugging me since I’d seen Superman Returns. I said, ‘How the f**k was Superman lifting up that kryptonite island?’ Bruce agreed, it made no sense.”
Bruce and Ashton have always had a close relationship. The star gave Ashton his full blessing when he wed Demi in September 2005, and even attended the ceremony. Ashton recently admitted he doesn’t feel like a married man. The actor - who at 28 is 16 years younger than his 44-year-old wife - is still head over heels in love with Demi but finds married life “bizarre”.
Ashton mused at the time: “Married life is great but I don’t feel married. It’s very bizarre. I don’t think you can feel married I think you just feel in love and when you’re in love that’s a really great place to be.”
Demi Moore took a self-imposed hiatus from acting after deciding to raise her family instead - and is only returning because her kids became sick at the sight of her.
The Ghost actress gave up acting after her flop 1997 film GI Jane and, apart from a cameo in Charlie’s Angels, spent most of her free time raising children Rumer, Scout and Tallulah after she divorced from Die Hard tough guy Bruce Willis in 2000.
And Moore says she only appeared in new Emilio Estevez movie Bobby because her children pestered her to get out of the house and start acting again. She says, “I knew if I wasn’t with them they could have bigger problems than normal teens. I wasn’t retired from acting, I figured I’d do it again when I could. “Now work has become important again because my children were starting to ask if I was ever going to work again.”

Ashton Kutcher was out doing some early Christmas shopping at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills with a buddy on Wednesday, Dec. 6, when he came across a great gift.
“He was so thrilled with the it — a $2,500 art and photography book with it’s own stand by Peter Beard. It’s a collector’s edition and only 2,500 books are available,” said an eyewitness. “Ashton said it was the ‘perfect gift’!”
Apparently none the wiser, wife Demi Moore was spotted shopping in the Barneys make-up department the very next day! The actress purchased a variety of make-up and skin care products at the Cle de Peau Beaute counter, the extra pricey high-end line of Shisheido.
