Debbie Gibson Has Lyme Disease

Debbie Gibson Has Lyme Disease

Debbie Gibson took to her official website to announce that she has Lyme Disease. From “People” magazine:

When Debbie Gibson flew to Chile for two sold-out shows, she had a great idea: she would share concert photos and videos on her blog, thinking it was the best way to interact with her fans.

But the reaction wasn’t exactly what she had hoped. The usually slender Gibson had lost even more weight, causing fans to taunt her skeletal appearance online. “Some were just plain mean and ignorant,” she says.

The response inspired Gibson to come clean about a health challenge she has been facing.

After the jump, you can read her full statement from her website! (more…)

Sneak Peek of Tiffany taking on Debbie Gibson!

Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are here to make all your 80s nostalgia dreams come true. As they take their pent-up, top of the 80s pop chart battle to hand-to-hand combat in this clip from the upcoming Syfy film “MEGA PYTHON VS. GATOROID.”

They rage against each other, just like Andie rages against judgmental yuppies in “16 candles.” They try to defeat each other, just like Gary and Wyatt try to defeat their unpopularity and lack of girls in “Weird Science.” They battle, just like Alexis and Krystle battle from “Dynasty” battle in living rooms, in art studios, in bedrooms, on hillsides, in lily ponds….

Debbie Gibson and Tiffany Unite!

The Hollywood Reporter reports that former 80s teen pop sensations Debbie Gibson and Tiffany have been cast opposite each other in a Syfy original movie.

“Mega Python vs. Gatoroid” will feature Gibson as a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores and releases them into the Everglades – where they then morph into super-sized menaces – while Tiffany will portray an over-enthusiastic park ranger out to save endangered alligators.

The pair, who used to battle it out on the charts, have starred in Syfy productions before, but this film marks the first time they will appear together.

Debbie Gibson Feels Sexier Than Ever!‏

It’s hard to believe that it has been a whopping 23 years since Debbie Gibson ruled the music charts as a teenage pop princess. After all, with her 40th birthday just around the corner, the star looks hotter than she ever has. And, having recently lost almost 20 pounds thanks to a diet devised by her boyfriend, Dr. Rutledge Taylor, she’s in better shape than many women half her age. “I finally feel like my true self, physically and emotionally,” Debbie tells In Touch. “Everything is in balance. And I feel better naked than I ever have!”

ITW: You look fantastic! But you never appeared to be particularly overweight.

DG: I was always so active, especially when I was busy performing on Broadway. I could eat macaroni and cheese during every intermission, and I wouldn’t gain weight. But my metabolism has definitely slowed down, so some weight came on really fast.

ITW: So why did you want to lose weight?

DG: I was hiding it really well, but I was a good 15 pounds heavier than I wanted to be. People should focus on good health first and foremost, but I realized that I feel best when I’m at my leanest, and I wanted to get a grip on this when I was only a little overweight, as opposed to letting it get away from me. So, I decided to try my boyfriend’s [Dr. Taylor] program, which is called Better Than Lipo.

ITW: How much do you weigh now?

DG: I’m at 114 pounds. I was okay at my previous weight, but I felt like my inner diva did not match my outer diva.

ITW: And how do you feel?

DG: I feel hotter and more in control. It’s even improved my sex life. You shouldn’t get your whole self-worth from how you look, but at 39, I think it’s okay to focus on the outside a bit if it makes you feel good.
