David And Gillian Are Acting Weird Again

'The X-Files: I Want To Believe' London Premiere (USA ONLY)

I know they’re riding high on their new X Files Fox reboot, but STILL…

As we reported yesterday, David Duchovny is now a rocker (in that a 52 year old who is famous and can make an album is a “rocker,”) and  Gillian Anderson made a surprise appearance during his concert at the Cutting Room.

Gillian herself wanted to get in on the self-congratulating, so she performed a version of the Neil Young classic, “Helpless.” David was playing to promote his debut album “Hell or Highwater,” but I’m sure the two are going to be publicity-ing up their new X Files stint, which appears in January.

They did give fans of the show what they always wanted to see, a couple kisses. Which again, was probably to promote but there have always been some weird rumors about the two of them, so who knows.

What do you think? Did these two ever hook up? WILL they?

David Duchovny Is Apparently A Musician Now

CW, CBS And Showtime 2013 Summer TCA in LA

In the fine tradition of actors who are full of themselves deciding to make music…

David Duchovny recorded some kind of (probably pitchy, probably faux blues) album called  Hell or Highwater, out now on Tidal and other non-Jay-Z monopolized musical avenues.

The 54-year-old performed the track on Tuesday’s episode of Today, showing that not only can you be fairly irrelevant (SAVE THE X-FILES NEWS) as an actor, but also hoist your cultural irrelevance into another genre of artmaking. And that’s what being famous is all about, folks.

Listen HERE, if you DARE.

Fox Wants To Reboot “The X Files”

'The X-Files: I Want To Believe' London Premiere (USA ONLY)

Fox wants to make another X Files?!  My teenage heart just skipped a beat…

..but my hard, cold adult heart says NOOOO! You see, Fox wants to reboot The X-Files, complete with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, for a whole new series based on the original. Ulp.

From Deadline:

Fox TV Group chairman Dana Walden said that the conversations so far have been only logistical, looking at windows when the key X-Files players, creator Carter and stars Duchovny and Anderson, are available. She confirmed that a potential X-Files followup will star the original leading duo of Duchovny and Anderson. There have been no creative discussions yet about what that new series might be.

From Entertainment Weekly:

On The X-Files front, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman say they have been in talks with series creator Chris Carter about reviving the supernatural procedural, which was a major hit for the network from 1993 to 2002. The executives also revealed they hope to have original series stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles on the show.

“It’s true that we’ve had some conversations on X-Files,” Newman said. “We’re hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point.”

Walden added: “Gary and I both worked [at 20th Century Fox Television] through the entire run of The X Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian. We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time.

I think I can get behind a movie, even a short mini-series. But a whole new series? Can’t we just leave this glorious piece of television alone?

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are Divorced

CW, CBS And Showtime 2013 Summer TCA in LA

Californication star, David Duchovny and Tea Leoni got a divorce… in June.  The couple got married back in 1997, briefly separated in 2008, at which point Duchovny checked himself into rehab for sex addiction.  The two reconciled, but then separated once again in 2011.  Apparently it stuck, as Duchovny filed for divorce due to ‘irretrievable breakdown of the relationship’ in June.  The two settled amongst themselves, and were granted a divorce, completely under the radar.

According to TMZ, the Duchovny and Leoni have joint custody of their two children, a 12-year old son and a 15-year old daughter, while Leoni has primary custody.  Duchovny will pay $8,333 in child support and $40,000 of spousal support each month.  Not a shabby income for Leoni.

David has been linked with his X-Files co-star, Gillian Anderson.  He’s currently filming Aquarius a new 1960s cop drama set around the Charles Manson saga.  Tea Leoni, who has taken a bit of break from acting to raise her children, will be hitting the small screen in the new drama, Madam Secretary.
