TMZ has learned that not only was Courteney Cox okay with David Arquette’s phone call to Howard Stern, she knew exactly what he was going to say, down to his comment about having sex with another woman!

Sources in a position to know tell TMZ … David and Courteney talked before David made his appearance on Howard’s radio show, and she was “fine” with what David would say.

But here’s a twist … David just tweeted he “shared too much” on the Stern show, adding, “It’s alright for me to be honest about my own feelings but in retrospect some of the information I provided involved others and for that I am sorry and humbled.”

Not even a week has gone by since announcing her split from husband David Arquette, and already Courteney Cox is being offered big bucks to be the face of a cougar-themed dating website!

TMZ is reporting that Courteney has been offered $1 million to be the face of CougarLife.com, a website that specializes in matching older women with younger men. The owners figured the fact that she’s now single, combined with the fact that she stars in Cougar Town make her the perfect candidate for spokeswoman.

As far as the contract goes — Cox would be required to voice 12 radio ads, appear in 4 TV ads, and make at least 30 public appearances for the CL brand … all within the span of one year.

But there’s a catch — CL would reserve the right to fire Cox if she gets arrested or “conducts herself in a manner that brings herself into disrepute.”

That’s not demeaning at all! No way Courteney would ever sign (at least I hope not!)

The shocking news that David Arquette and Courteney Cox have separated after 11 years of marriage took everyone by surprise this week, except Courteney’s longtime pal Jennifer Aniston.

“Jen has known for some time that the couple was in trouble but hoped and prayed they would be able to work it out,” a friend of the actress tells me. “No one knows how painful divorce is more than Jen and she hopes they don’t rush into it without exhausting every possibility to stay together.”

Which clearly didn’t include a groggy and teary David calling into Howard Stern’s radio show yesterday morning and airing the notoriously private couple’s dirty laundry in public.

“Telling Howard that they haven’t had sex in four months is not the way David is going to win back his wife!” an insider tells me. “What he did on Howard confirmed Cox’s biggest complaint about her husband, that he needs to just grow up.”

There’s been no word yet if Courteney is going to listen to Jen’s advice and give the marriage another try, however, friends tell me no matter what Courteney decides to do, Jen will support her.

“Goodness knows Courteney supported Jen during her breakup with Brad Pitt. Now it’s Jens turn to be to supportive. After all, isn’t that what a friend is for.” Oh wait, I get it!

David Arquette just called in to the Howard Stern Show — explaining EVERYTHING about why he and Courteney Cox agreed to take a “trial separation” … noting that they haven’t had sex in 4 months.

Arquette explained that he and Courteney stopped having sex around one month before they started shooting “Scream 4″ in Michigan … and drifted from there.

He also claims Courteney was the one who insisted they try separating right after their 11th wedding anniversary back in June … after she told David that she was “tired of being your mother.”

David claims he still loves Courteney — and calls her one of the most amazing people on the planet.

David is also adamant that he never cheated on Courteney before the split — but admits he has had sex with rebound chick Jasmine Waltz … his “one conquest.”

Arquette also said he is hopeful he and Courteney can patch things up and get back together.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have separated after 11 years of marriage … and TMZ has learned they’ve been separated for several months.

A source close to the couple tells TMZ the two are “still friends” and they maintain a business relationship with each other. In fact, sources say … no lawyers are involved.

The couple has one child together.

David and Courteney met on the set of “Scream” sometime around 1995 … and were married in 1999. They are currently co-starring in the upcoming “Scream” movie due out next year.

There was a hint of things to come back on September 25 when Arquette was spotted out, sans wedding ring.

The couple has released a statement saying, “We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage.”

The statement continues, “We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.”

IT GETS INTERESTING… The reason for the sudden announcement of the separation is because pictures have surfaced of David and a woman with whom he has been intimate … and there’s a Lindsay Lohanconnection.

TMZ’s told the woman in question is Jasmine Waltz — if that name sounds familiar, that’s because she’s the girl who punched Lindsay Lohan on LiLo’s birthday a few months back.

Our sources say David and Jasmine began seeing each other after David and Courteney had separated and agreed to see other people.

That said … we’re told a divorce is by no means a done deal. We’ve learned the couple has been living apart for several months, but there is a “real possibility” they could get back together. As one source said, “It’s a work in progress.”
