Channing Tatum and Olivia Munn on the set of the stripper film based on his life.

Pictures are finally rolling in on Steven Soderbergh’s new film, ‘Magic Mike’. The movie is a film about a stripper (Channing Tatum) who takes a fellow exotic dancer (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing. Both dancers work at club Xquisite, which is run by Dallas, a retired dancer played by Matthew McConaughey.

The film is loosely based on Channing’s own experiences. He was an exotic dancer before breaking into acting.

Channing was spotted today in between filming scenes with co-stars Olivia Munn and Wendi McLendon-Covey in Los Angeles. ‘Magic Mike’ also stars True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello, White Collar hottie Matt Bomer, and British actor Alex Pettyfer.

Wonder if any “stripper” photos will surface from the set?

Joe Manganiello joins male stripper movie based on Tatum Channing’s life!

Joe Manganiello, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum are all set to star in the movie ‘Magic Mike’. The movie is based on the real-life experiences of Channing Tatum as a young exotic dancer.

You know you want to see it.

Manganiello, a favorite werewolf on “True Blood,” comes as the latest and apparently largest addition, according to EW. He’s reportedly been cast as Big Dick Richie, a dancer of enormous talent, alongside Pettyfer’s booty-shaking newbie, Tatum’s seasoned pro, supporting dancer Bomer and club owner McConaughey.

Stephen Soderbergh is directing the flick, set to open in September 2012. And one of the largest questions looming about the project — after why can’t it just open today — is, how much of the man-goodies will be on display?

Turns out, full-frontal might not be off the table. Soderbergh “isn’t afraid of going there,” a well-placed source tells the Awful Truth.

Um…. yes please?

Unfortunately ‘G.I. Joe 2′ is happening.

Sometimes sequels are better than the original. Let’s hope that’s the case with ‘G.I. Joe 2′. Channing Tatum just took to Twitter and announced, “Be prepared. #GIJOE2″ with the picture below. I didn’t see the first one – but it’s one of those movies that I was pretty confident SUCKED without actually wasting my precious time to watch. I have pretty good crappy-movie-instincts.

He’s known for his good looks – but model-turned-actor Channing Tatum has decided to sacrifice his crowning glory for the sake of his art.

It’s thought the 31-year-old star has shaved off his dark brown locks as he beings to film his role in the new GI Joe movie, Mail Online can reveal.

Also signed up alongside Channing in GI Joe: Cobra Strikes, are Sienna Miller, Ray Stevenson, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and possibly Bruce Willis as General Joe Colton.

The Rock confirmed today on his Twitter that they had started on the movie, writing: ‘Long day of prep for GI Joe. Special Forces fatigues look strong. Time for Don Julio and new episode of Hard Time.’

TRAILER TIME: Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum get steamy in new movie, ‘The Vow’

Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams star in ‘The Vow’, the story of a newlywed couple torn apart by McAdam’s memory loss following a car accident.

Channing vows to never leave his wife, even if she doesn’t remember who he is.

Looks totally cheesy, but I love both of them, so I’m going to have to see it!

“The Vow” hits theaters February 10th, 2012.

Channing Tatum returns to his roots – will star in Steven Soderbergh directed male stripper movie!

Steven Soderbergh, who recently announced he’s planning on retiring, has decided first to make film about a male stripper and his protege. The movie is based on a true story – and will star Channing Tatum as the male stripper. Tatum, who has admitted to stripping before becoming an actor (yes, that’s him below) is the perfect choice for the role!

“This was a wild and pivotal time in my life and I couldn’t be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven,” Tatum said in a statement. Soderbergh was similarly excited.

“When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie,” the Oscar-winning director said. “I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”

Matt Damon recently spoke with Esquire, and explained Steven’s reasons for retiring:

“”He’s kind of exhausted with everything that interested him in terms of form. He’s not interested in telling stories,” Damon says. “Cinema interested him in terms of form and that’s it. He says, ‘If I see another over-the-shoulder shot, I’m going to blow my brains out.’”

Damon also laid out Soderbergh’s timeline.

“After this movie we’re doing ‘Liberace’ next summer with Michael Douglas, and then he might do one more movie after that with George [Clooney], and then after that he’s retiring.”

The movie with Clooney will be “Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

As for Tatum, he’s currently filming “21 Jump Street,” the film adaptation of the classic TV cop show.

Channing Tatum Has Ticket Trouble

Ex-stripper and hunky actor Channing Tatum was caught by the po-po today (March 1) driving while talking on his cell phone and driving without wearing a seatbelt.

One would think that Mr. Tatum would take his safety a bit more seriously; he’s due to have hip surgery soon from an injury he sustained while training for his upcoming film, The Eagle. Channing had this to say about the injury:

“The Eagle was definitely the most dangerous film I’ve ever done[...]We were on horseback on unsteady ground on cliffs, places where horses should never have been. I came back broken — physically, mentally and spiritually.”

Obey the laws, Channing!
