Brooke Mueller, who has been hospitalized with pneumonia since last week, plans to get help for stress reduction and psychological therapy to help her heal from a life-threatening infection, a source tells People.

“The doctors told Brooke on Sunday that if she wants to get better she has to reduce stress and get a lot of R&R in the coming weeks,” a source close to Mueller tells People. “Her mom is checking out spas around the country now.”

Mueller has pneumonia in both lungs, which has adversely affected her breathing, and she is still in the intensive care unit of a Los Angles hospital where she has been treated with strong antibiotics for nearly a week.

Doctors treating Mueller, who previously battled addiction, are not happy with the slow rate of her recovery, blaming much of it on stress to her immune system. They are also concerned about her physical and psychological health.

“The doctors basically said Brooke is not going to get better without taking her health in her own hands and reducing the stress surrounding her life,” the source tells People. “She has to do it now.”

Even though actor Charlie Sheen has been visiting his wife in the hospital daily since she was admitted last week, Mueller’s mother, Moira Fiore, wants her daughter to spend some time without him.

“Moira wants Brooke to get away from Charlie, away from L.A., and away from all of the stresses that are hurting her immune system,” the source tells People. “She is checking out major spas on the East Coast to target both mental and physical therapies to help her daughter.”

Sheen has been allowed to have contact with Mueller while she remains in the hospital despite a protective order against him resulting from his domestic violence arrest on Christmas Day.

There is no date set yet for Mueller to be released from intensive care. A hearing to modify the protective order has been set for Feb 8.

TMZ has learned Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s wife, is going to be ok and she still plans to make the trip to Aspen for the hearing on Friday.

Mueller’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, tells TMZ the infection that put her in the hospital today is under control — an infection she got as a result of oral surgery earlier in the week.

Galanter says Brooke — who was admitted to the ICU with a fever of 105 — was pumped full of antibiotics and she should be released today.

Galanter says the goal is for Brooke to make it to the hearing on Friday — a hearing to modify the protective order that prohibits Charlie from having any contact with Brooke. Galanter says he’s not sure if Brooke will be in any condition to travel and it’s possible he’ll ask the judge to allow her to testify by telephone.

We’re also told a motion should be filed shortly in Aspen to allow Charlie to have contact with Brooke, while she’s in the hospital.

Charlie went to the hospital a short time ago .. under the protective order he’s allowed to be in the same room with wife Brooke Mueller, but technically he can’t communicate with her.

Brooke Mueller has moved back into the Los Angeles home she shared with Charlie Sheen – and the Two and Half Men star has moved out so as not to violate a restraining order filed against him after their domestic dispute on Christmas Day.

Mueller flew back to L.A. with the couple’s twin sons from her rental house in Aspen, Colo. where the fight occurred, her lawyer Yale Galanter tells People. Sheen, meanwhile, remains in Los Angeles where he’s at work on his hit show.

“Brooke has personal matters and places to take the twins in Los Angeles, so she went home for a few days,” says Galanter. “Charlie is staying with a friend for the time she is there.”

Sheen, 44, was arrested Dec. 25 after Mueller called 911 saying the actor threatened her. A judge issued a temporary restraining order against Sheen.

Mueller, 32, maintained that she wants to see her husband again. Her attorney filed a motion to try to get the order’s no-contact clause thrown out.

Mueller and Sheen will return to Colorado for the Jan 20 hearing, her lawyer said.

“Brooke still has her house in Aspen and will be back next week,” Galanter tells People. “So will Charlie. But not together.”

Another possible delay in a hearing between Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen’s lawyers is proving to be quite frustrating.

“Brooke and Charlie are not allowed to have any contact with each other at this point,” Mueller’s lawyer Yale Galanter, tells People. “Brooke wants to get back with Charlie so we are anxious to meet in court.

As of now, the new court date is 9 a.m. Jan. 20, but we are hoping that will change and be this coming Monday.”

Galanter filed a motion in the Aspen court last week to modify the protective order put into place after Sheen’s domestic violence arrest on Christmas day so his client and her husband can meet and attempt to resolve their differences.

“The judge is this case is involved in a jury trial,” Galanter tells People. “We are hoping it concludes early, and if so, we could be in front of the judge on Monday.”

Reports that $1 million will be added to Brooke Mueller’s pre-nuptial agreement with husband Charlie Sheen are premature, Mueller’s attorney Yale Galanter tells People.

“I have heard nothing concerning any kind of talk about financial issues between Brooke and Charlie,” Galanter said Thursday. “I don’t think any discussion about finances is true.”

Galanter has filed a motion in the Aspen, Colo. court to modify the protective order put in place after Sheen’s domestic violence arrest so his client and her husband can get together and attempt to resolve their issues. “We have a 10:30 a.m. court date in Aspen Monday morning,” he says, adding. “I am waiting for that.”

Galanter also says he has not heard the reports of Sheen and Mueller having a fight where he attacked her and shoved her so hard she hit her head on the floor. “I can’t comment on something I have not heard or know anything about,” he tells People.

Brooke Mueller has not gone into hiding after her Christmas Day incident with husband Charlie Sheen. Mueller, who tearfully told a 911 dispatcher that Sheen was threatening her with a knife on Dec. 25, was out and about in Aspen, Colo. (where the alleged incident took place) on Monday, E! News reports.

The 32 year-old attended a cocktail party at her mother’s home and hit celeb hangout Caribou Club and “stayed until closing time,” a source tells E!.

Reportedly wearing jeans, green sweater and no makeup among a more decked-out crowd at Caribou, “Brooke was low-key,” the source continues to E!. “She was talking to friends and walking around the small club…you could barely tell it was her.”

Not that there weren’t recognizable stars in attendance: Paris Hilton, Doug Reinhardt and Gerard Butler were all at reportedly Caribou that night, but Mueller stuck with her friends. Her twins with Sheen, Bob and Max (born this year), were spotted playing in the snow with their nanny earlier that day. 44 year-old Sheen, meanwhile, has returned to L.A.

Sheen was booked for suspicion of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief and was released on $8500 bond Friday evening. He faces two to eight years in prison and a $2000 to $500,000 fine. Prosecutors likely won’t decide whether to file charges against Sheen until Feb. 8, when the actor is scheduled to appear in court.

Brooke and Charlie Sheen are thrilled to be expecting twins, according to her mother.

“Brooke and Charlie are expecting twins, and they are so excited,” Moira Fiore, who spent time with Brooke last week, tells PEOPLE. “Obviously, I am floating on air.”

Fiore says that the couple “think the twins are boys” but aren’t sure.

“Brooke has had all day morning sickness but is coming to the end of the first trimester so she hopefully will feel better soon,” says Fiore of her 31-year-old daughter. “It has been rough for her.”

Still, “Brooke looks so beautiful,” adds her mom. “She is just glowing.”

Sheen, 42, who is already a father to three girls, has expressed interest in having a son. In August, Brooke told PEOPLE she thought they would have a boy. “Odds are it’s a boy, but we’ll be happy with either sex,” she said at the time.

The twins are due in April.
