‘The Real Housewives of New York City” is getting two new faces for the show’s weekly, high-powered coffee klatches.
Bravo confirmed that faux-socialites Sonja Morgan and Jennifer Gilbert will be recurring “characters” on the reality series’ third season, which is currently in production and set to air sometime next year.
Morgan, a former restaurant hostess, is the ex-wife of JP Morgan’s great-grandson and a personal friend of original housewife Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, who brought her into the series. She’s also the single mother of a 9-year-old daughter and “loves art, decorating, gardening, skiing and visiting France every chance she gets.”
Meanwhile, business-minded Gilbert owns the event planning company Save the Date and co-owns PortaMEe, a baby carrier company. She’s been married for seven years and has three children. In her spare time, she throws dinner parties, sticking to her personal motto: “Why cook when you can cater?”
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is speaking out after the beating death of Ashley Jewell, her ex-fiance:
“I am devastated by the loss of AJ. His death comes on the heels of the death of my beloved Uncle Ralph and with both of them gone, my heart is heavy with grief,” she tells Usmagazine.com in a statement.
“I had spoken to AJ two hours before I got the call that he was in the hospital. Never in a thousand years did I think it was going to be the last time I heard his voice. He was taken way too soon. There are so many things that I should have said to him, wanted to say to him… But now it’s too late.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of my family and friends — and that means my Twitter and Facebook friends as well — for the beautiful words of encouragement, prayers, and the sweet condolences. I make it through these difficult days because of you. I know this is cliche, but I urge everyone to treat each day as if it’s your last and tell that special someone you love them today. Don’t wait. It may be too late.
“Please pray for his children, his family and Riley – they too are grieving the loss of an incredible man, son, brother and father,” her statement concluded. “I wish you all had gotten to know the AJ we all knew and loved.”
Kim Zolciak wants to make one thing clear: Although she once waitressed at the Cheetah, an Atlanta strip club, she never took off her clothes. Had she been a stripper, as recent reports have suggested, Kim says she’d be the first to admit it. “I’m honest about the fact that I’m dating a married man,” she told Life & Style during a no-holds-barred interview on Sept. 24. “[If I’d been] a stripper, why wouldn’t I tell you?” While speaking to Life & Style, Kim also addressed several rumors that have made this Southern single mom one of the most talked-about Housewives in history.
Rumor: Her ex-hubby is loaded
Truth: Kim gets “no child support and no alimony” from the father of her daughters, Brielle, 12, and Ariana, 7, she tells Life & Style. So how does she pay for the family’s big house and fancy clothes? “Before The Real Housewives came along, I worked as a nurse,” Kim explains. “I also waited tables. I worked two full-time jobs.” That all changed when she started dating “Big Poppa” — her mystery boyfriend, who is reportedly real-estate mogul Lee Najjar (right). “When I got with Poppa, I didn’t have to work anymore,” Kim says.
Truth: On The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s season-one reunion show, Kim said she first started wearing wigs because a mystery illness caused her hair to fall out. The other Housewives blasted her for suggesting she had cancer — but Kim says that was never the case. “It was a cancer scare,” she explains, adding that a thyroid condition contributed to the problem. These days, Kim tells Life & Style, she’s in perfect health.
The first ladies of blonde, bronze and bling are back for a fifth season! The Real Housewives of Orange County premieres November 5 at 10/9c, and joining Tamra Barney, Vicki Gunvalson, Lynne Curtin, Jeana Keough, and Gretchen Rossi is new wife, 32-year-old spicy blonde and mother of three Alexis Bellino. Bravo reality star Patti Stanger tells Usmagazine.com exclusively that she is engaged to beau Andy Friedman.
“I feel like it should have happened years ago, so I’m kind of shocked,” she tells Us. Stanger, 48, tells Us Friedman — a 51-year-old real estate executive whom she met through a matchmaker five and a half years ago — popped the question in Maui, Hawaii, on her May 31 birthday.
A black swan named Raymond delivered the 4-carat ring. Of the ring, she tells Us, “I have a rule, if you go out a year and he doesn’t propose, it goes up a carat a year.”
Now, the L.A.-based duo, who don’t live together, are planning for 2010 nuptials. What kind of wedding does the never-before-married Stanger prefer? “I want to elope, and he wants a big wedding,” she tells Us. “I’m like, ‘Let’s go to Vegas!’”
I watched the premiere of Miami Social last night on Bravo (it wasn’t that bad, of course I’ll keep watching it), and the whole time I watched it, I coudn’t figure out where in the world I’d seen Hardy before! I knew I recognized him, but I couldn’t put it together!
A little digging this morning, and I found that he was on Big Brother 2 – with Dr. Will! Of course it was Big Brother! So this is for all of you that were wondering the same thing I was.
