Ashlee Simpson and her ex hubby, rocker Pete Wentz were all smiles as they cordially came together to spend an afternoon with 2-year-old son Bronx Mowgli and friends. The family attended a party in Sherman Oaks together before heading to Tough Cookies kids boutique in Studio City, where Pete did some shopping for their little guy.

Ashlee Simpson is throwing herself back into music following her marriage split from Pete Wentz confirming she has been working on new material.
Simpson took a break from her singing career after releasing Bittersweet World in 2008 to raise her son, Bronx Mowgli, with the Fall Out Boy rocker. The couple filed for divorce in February citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Now Simpson has taken to Twitter to announce she is ready to make her pop comeback, posting a photo of herself holding an acoustic guitar.
She adds, “Writing sesh (session) on the balcony. My album doesn’t seem so far away…”

That’s what normal couples who are in the midst of a highly publicized divorce do and custody battle; they hold hands while strolling the streets.
The couple were spotted with son Bronx out on a coffee run earlier today looking very much together with their fingers locked, avoiding the paps and attempting to mind their own business.
Pete Wentz finally got smart and cut that nasty head of hair he’s been sporting lately!
He posted the picture and simply wrote, “tame the mane.”
Speaking of Petey, he was spotted TWICE with soon-to-be-ex-wife Ashlee Simpson over the weekend!
When Ryan Seacrest asked the Black Cards rocker how he’s holding up since Simpson filed for divorce Feb. 9, the 31-year-old had only good things to say about his soon-to-be ex.
“Ashlee’s been my best friend for five years. She’s the mother of my child,” Wentz said during Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Monday. “I have nothing but love and respect for her.”
He’s not exaggerating: the duo (parents to son Bronx, 2) were spotted making two separate fast food runs in L.A. over the weekend.
“Going through something like this isn’t easy,” Wentz added, “but we’re friends and the most important thing is to put our son first.”
“Everything’s a new discovery for him,” the proud papa gushed. “His new thing is hiding cell phones and credit cards and stuff. I’m like, ‘So where’s dad’s cell phone?’ And he laughs. He thinks it’s like a comedy bit.”
Things may get a little tense in the divorce between 31-year-old Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz and estranged wife, 26-year-old singer Ashlee Simpson. Today, Pete filed his official response to Ashlee’s divorce petition, and he is seeking joint custody of their son, Bronx, while Ashlee has made it clear that she is looking for sole custody, granting Pete visitation rights.
A source close to the couple reveals that Pete isn’t gearing up for any custody battle, he just wants an even distribution of time with his son. In a previous statement, the couple said:
“We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority.”
From what we can see, both look like loving parents to Bronx, and hopefully they can reach an agreement before things get ugly.

Now that the divorce is on from Fall Out Boy badboy Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson needs a new pad.
According to a source, the Ashlee has been staying with her parents until she can find a place of her own. She filed for divorce Febuary 9.
Simpson spent her morning looking at homes with a real estate agent. They were looking at houses in the Beverly Hills area, a second insider says.
“They drove by a few houses in the $3 to 4 million range,” the source tells Us. “Ashlee didn’t get out of the car and was quiet and subdued. At one point, she was going to get out of the car but when she saw photographers she decided to stay in the car and then went home.”
One criteria for Simpson’s new spread is that it’s suitable for her two-year-old son Bronx.
“The homes were two-story traditional style homes in a family neighborhood,” says the source. “One of the houses was just up from the street from Coldwater Park where she and Pete like to take Bronx to play.”
Another plus, adds the insider, “The homes were also very close to [sister] Jessica’s house, which would be nice for her.”
