Not everyone was impressed with the first look of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

“I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo],” she told MTV. “And I happen to know that MTV’s reaction was ‘meh.’”

(In its original critique, MTV called the image of Hathaway “unflattering” and “underwhelming.” In an Us Weekly poll, 52 percent of readers voted Michelle Pfeiffer as the sexiest Catwoman; Halle Berry came in second place with 37 percent of the votes, while Hathaway came in last place with a mere 11 percent.)

Despite first impressions, Hathaway promised there’s more to her costume than meets the eye. “What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do,” the 28-year-old said. “And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”

Anne Hathaway hit the red carpet in New York last night at the premiere of her new movie ‘One Day’. The actress wore a sparkling gold and black Alexander McQueen dress.

“I find the passing of time very liberating,” says the actress, who turns 29 in November. “I feel more confident every, well not every single day, but most days I feel better than I did the day before, and that’s a good thing.”

“For every generation where traditional rules don’t apply, you don’t have to have things figured out by 22 and have four kids by the time you’re 30,” said Hathaway, who’s single but dating and has no children. “We have a lot more time to figure out who we are.”

Case in point, Hathaway says: Meryl Streep, the 62-year-old Oscar winner.

“We have pioneers that show us there’s no reason to be afraid, and I just think fear (of aging) is something that we perpetuate,” Hathaway said. “Who needs it?”

“One Day,” based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls, follows the romantic journey of two best friends over 20 years. The film, opening Aug. 19, also stars British actor Jim Sturgess.

Christopher Nolan, director of the new Batman film, and his team have secretly released another first look at “The Dark Knight Rises”!

Here we have Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle, otherwise known as Catwoman.

Hathaway, to say the least, looks much different than past Catwoman actresses, with the glasses, lack of any ears or mask and gigantic powerwheels motorbike setting her apart from Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

This is the latest release from the film, though the previous ones weren’t exactly approved; paparazzi shots got clear images of the new Batmobile, as well as some epic fight scenes between the Dark Knight and Bane.

What will Anne Hathaway’s costume look like when she plays Catwoman in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’?

HollywoodLife says they have the inside word that Hathaway’s costume won’t be as revealing as the previous catwomen.

“Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies,” a source very close to the costume design told the website. “She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber… But fan boys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot.”

Hathaway has spoken a number of times of her “Dark Knight Rises” workout routine, most recently telling Harper Bazaar in their new cover story, “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job I also have to be strong.” The routine, she says, is five days a week, which includes stunt training and dance.

Anne Hathaway went geek chic at the premiere of her new animated movie, ‘Rio’. The actress paired thick-rimmed glasses with a fringed purple Gucci dress at the Hollywood premiere this weekend.
