I mean, it’s not a shock to anyone, is it?
Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar killed it when they opened the 2016 BET Awards on Sunday, June 26, with a powerful rendition of Bey’s song “Freedom.”
The performance featured a giant lap pool à la the setup she uses on the runway of her Formation World Tour, AND a black patterned leotard, so you know it was fierce. Adding to the impact was a cameo by Kendrick, who also does not disappoint.
And the results? Beyoncé took home a slew of BET Awards, including Video of the Year, Best Female R&B/Rap Artist, Viewer’s Choice and BET Centric Award. Lamar was also nominated for Video of the Year for “Alright,” in addition to Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. I mean, OBVI.
