PICS: Amber Heard visits Johnny Depp on the set of 'Black Mass'

Well this is getting worse than I ever thought. Happy Thursday!

Apparently, Amber Heard was victimized by Johnny Depp’s drunken temper in the past, but one such episode seems particularly harrowing. One of Amber’s friends came forward and talked about when Johnny attempted to smother Amber with a pillow, and how Amber texted the woman during the attack. The friend rushed over and found Heard all beat up. Page Six reports:

“I got to her apartment to find her with a cut and bruised lip, a swollen eye and a chunk of hair missing from the top of her head,” the friend recalled. “This incident really stuck with me because she confided in me that day that she feared for her life after an intoxicated Johnny tried to suffocate her with a pillow.”

It was hardly the only time a boozed-up and ready-to-rumble Depp, 52, laid his hands on her, the pal claims.

“I have personally witnessed the aftermath of Johnny Depp’s violent and abusive behavior towards her on many occasions,” the confidante said of Heard, 30.

As a note, in December of 2014 (before they were married) rumors started that Depp and Heard’s relationship was in trouble, but they tied the knot anyway on Feb 3rd 2015:

“There is no rush to marry at the moment,” a source told People. “Johnny is crazy in love with Amber, but there is turmoil in the relationship.”

This whole thing seemed doomed from the start, I suppose. That being said there’s absolutely no excuse for domestic violence. None. And the fact that more and more evidence of it is coming out shows just how sickening and broken this relationship was.

It makes me sad, y’all.
