Oh, Snooki, how I love you so.
I used to be HUGE into the Jersey Shore, I’ll admit it. And since then, the ladies of the Jersey Shore have held a particularly tender place in my heart. In my opinion, JWoww, Samantha, Angelina and Snooki had it rougher than the other castmates (literally. Remember when Snooki got punched in the face in season 1?) Anyhow, Snooki’s candor was always amazing to watch, and I’m glad she hasn’t changed in that way in the last seven years.
Even now, she’s being really upfront about how motherhood is freaking SCARY- something nobody really talks about. In a candid interview with SiriusXM podcast Wake Up! With Taylor, Snooks revealed her apprehension of motherhood when she first found out she was pregnant at 24:
“I always wanted to have kids but I wanted to wait till like, I don’t know, 27. But I got pregnant at 24 — so I was like: ‘S—, I’m not ready, what am I going to do? I don’t even know how to hold a baby. I hate kids!’ I wasn’t ready to make that transition. People were like: ‘Do you want to hold my baby?’ I was like: ‘No, I’m drinking a beer, go away'”.
Lucky for her, she stepped up to the plate.
“We have this switch that goes off. But it’s before the baby popped out — it was right when I got pregnant.”
Snooki also admitted that she’d “be in rehab” today if things have turned out differently. Well, glad you have your two kids, aren’t ya?
