Meghan Trainor took home a Grammy for Best New Artist– a highlight of the night!

Like her or hate her simplistic, middle of the road pop songs (I think you know where I stand), she beat out Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, James Bay, and Courtney Barnett for the Best New Artist honor, marking her first Grammy win and hopefully her last. Yarf.

“I have to thank L.A. Reid for looking at me like an artist instead of just a songwriter,” Trainor said when accepting the award.

Trainor’s first hit “All About That Bass” happened during the summer of 2014, and her subsequent lineup of hits include “Lips Are Movin,’” “Marvin Gaye,” “Dear Future Husband,” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” all on her January 2015 debut album Title.

Was she your pick for best new artist? Let us know BELOW!
