McDonald’s is like 5 years too late to get on this kale train, but now that they’re into it, they’re gonna do it THEIR WAY.
The chain debuted a new line of salads with a blend of kale, baby spinach, and romaine lettuce that contains more calories, fat and sodium that a Big Mac does. So that’s kind of what I mean by their way: fattening and unhealthy. Now, if I’m gonna go HAM on something at McDonald’s it’s not gonna be a kale salad. We’ll see how long this lasts. People breaks it down:
Premium Bacon Ranch Salad with Crispy Chicken: 690 calories, 45 g of fat, and 1,530 mg of sodium.
Southwest Salad with Crispy Chicken: 630 calories, 34 g of fat, and 1,090 calories (bump it up to 710 calories if you sub ranch dressing for the southwest dressing).
The“Keep Calm, Caesar On” (currently only available in Canada): 730 calories, 53 g of fat, and 1,400 mg of sodium.
The Big Mac: 540 calories, 28 g of fat, and 970 mg of sodium.
Yeah, sorry, McDonald’s. The Big Mac’s my first love, with fries as a close second. You’re gonna have to seriously cut the calories on these salads if you want me to even CONSIDER ordering one!
