Gwyneth Paltrow says women in Hollywood are paid less

Like most of the world, I find it hard to feel sorry for the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow. She’s lived a super posh existence and was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. So to hear her complain about money and the differences in Hollywood doesn’t exactly make her argument. Yes, I get that there is a difference in pay between male and female actors and entertainers, but does she have the right to whine?

In a new interview with Variety, she talked about the painful wage gap in Hollywood. She said, “Your salary is a way to quantify what you’re worth. If men are being paid a lot more for doing the same thing, it feels s**tty.”

While she does have a point, when you’re an actress being compared to an actor, the salary gap may also reflect a certain amount of talent – or lack thereof….right?

She also went after her “Iron Man” co-star Robert Downey Jr. She said, “Look, nobody is worth the money that Robert Downey Jr. is worth. But if I told you the disparity, you would probably be surprised.”

Do you feel she’s right? I’m all for feminism and closing the wage gaps that obviously exist, but this might be a better argument coming from someone who could actually carry an entire movie. What do you think?

This post was extremely sexist. She has every right to be upset with the wage gap. And to imply men are just better actors? Shame on you, icydk.

I wasn’t implying that men are better actors, I was merely saying that technically she compared herself to Robert Downey, Jr. and he’s a much better actor than she is. She shouldn’t be making equal money to him in the Iron Man franchise because he’s Iron Man and she’s a co-star. She couldn’t carry a movie on her own, that was my point.

Can’t carry a movie? She won an Oscar for carrying an entire movie. RDJ on the other hand….
